went to vegas for a 40th birthday party, about 10-15 people were there in our group from all over USA.

I know blackjack, craps, etc are all games that you basically break even at best if you are lucky. so i go for 2 nights in vegas planning on just sticking with poker. no way am i sitting down at any other game unless its just a very little bit with friends in our group.

cliffs: lost about 2k on blackjack and roulette (which I have never in my life even considered playing besides maybe a red/black walk by bet once or twice), much of which was basically by myself. hit the credit card advance twice for a total of $50 in fees. didn't play a single hand of poker the entire trip

I'm on the opposite of a super heater. These last few months have been horrible. Making more $$ than ever and then losing more $$ than ever. Maybe in the in future I'll account for the loses and write up the stories (superrrrrr degen times) but for now I'm just focusing on trying to beat this addiction. Today is another day 1 of no gambling.

This week has been full of degen.

Three trips to the casino in seven days.

Trip 1, was up $1,000, didn't want to leave, managed to lose the entire profit and another $1,700 on top.

Trip 2, was up $1,000, left the table, didn't leave, lost $750, went back to the original table, lost the other $250 ahead and another $1,000.

Trip 3, bought in for $500, had it up to $3,300, colored up $2,500 of it, lost the other $800 in 3 hands, looked to the 5 purples and said "nope. nope. nooooope. not doing this ****ing **** again." and got the **** out.

Between that and a $500 lotto hit, honestly lucky to be coming out of this last week only down $200.

And here I am waiting for the weekend when the slot comps get doled out again to have a reason to go back down.

I don't know how some of you do it.. Losing $150 on black jack KILLS me inside. I lost 150 yesterday and it still pains me that I could've used that money on so much more..

You build up a tolerance. I felt suicidal the first time I lost $1000. After a few years of this losing is the norm more than winning so it becomes expected. But on the flip side most people won't win like
A degen does. Pounding the casino for thousands and keep betting even when ahead a lot isn't something most beginner gamblers do. But you can't eat like a bird and poop like a moose as Steve cyr says most gamblers do. They win a little and slow down so they don't have a losing night. But when losing they keep chasing. Keep chasing when winning too.... Nuff said
I did and beat up Foxwoods for $5000 past month. Back to back w2gs on the $5 slots. Nice win baccarat then a good run at pai gow too. Also Got free Eddie Bauer bag and slot play free rooms now. Just now feel I'm
Done trying to keep beating them I'm done with casino games. Went for poker only last week won $300 in long day. It's a real good game I think I'm done with all these slots casino sucker games. I want Normal life back with a little poker on the side. Degen was fun but I'll let someone else take their turn now

Was up $1,000 on another trip, ended up leaving down $1,200 because I couldn't manage to get the **** away from the table even after a good shoe. Two 20s and I don't insure and the ****er has blackjack. ****.

Managed to hit a bit on a scratcher to ease the pain but I still feel like I should have $2k more than I do and I know I'm going to end up going back trying to win that back.

Maybe it takes a while but after a lifetime of getting kicked in the nuts by casino action I gave up. No more gambling.

Nobody likes a quitter but holy crap if I had all that back I could have retired last year at 57 instead of working at a job I dislike, for a company I hate, like a freaking dog at almost 60 years old.
