So...I played this hand in a deep stack tournament the other night and would like to know what the ruling could have been, as it never happened and also whether I was just lucky?
Blinds 400/800. I have 80k in UTG+1 and raise to 2k with A8 of clubs. BB has 45k and re-raises to 9k, I call.
Flop is 10, 5, 2 rainbow, no clubs.
After 20 seconds, without any action, the dealer burns and deals the turn! Which is a 7. Neither player checked or bet. My opponent and I in shock at first don't know what to do, the dealer apologised. Another player said we could get a ruling but my opponent asked if I was happy to continue on that card, which I agreed. (Not sure if I should have?)
He bets 15k on the turn. I think he is bluffing so I call, with the intention to shove the river.
The river is a Ace, which he shows a sigh!....so when he checks I jam! He calls and is sick when I show my rag ace! He had QQ!!....was I lucky to hit or was my theory correct? Had the dealer not messed the flop He probably would have double barrelled, to which I would fold the turn for sure.
I got to the final and came 4th for £170...£40 buy in
