Game is double board holdem. Two flops - two turns - two rivers - pot is split between the best holdem hand on each board. It’s a dumb game, one we sometimes deal in our home game

Hero has AA
Villain has 44.

Board one is A54Q7
Board two is Q874A

So Hero ends up winning set over set on both boards. So unlikely that it made me curious

The situation feels rarer than Quads v Quads on a single board. But I can’t calculate the actual odds of losing both boards in double board holdem when one holds a set on each board. Anybody have an educated guess ?

Since you say it happened (and we have no reason to doubt you) then the odds were 100%.

The chances rest at a balanced crossroads of 50/50, where the outcome either manifests or fades into naught

The outcome in this hand is just a prediction while quads over quads has due diligence.

AA is 81% vs 44. so AA will win both .81^2=65.6% of the time which is what happened. Now if you want to know the chances of winning both via set over set
then it is 1 in 2,918.7
