3 million is enough to quit on???

Seriously??

That buys you like a 4 bedroom house in London...

3million x ((interest+profit from investments) - inflation) = many dollars

Isn't the only reason TheBryce took a break from poker, so he could evade the taxes? There is really no sign of him quitting, it just seems cleverly worded so he could look really cool when the real reasons are not so obvious for everyone. He would have to win at least 6 million $ within a year to make quitting for the time being not a very smart and lucrative move.

You don't have to pay taxes in canada when your winnings are a fluke, but you have to when you win consistently.

With $3m, he could play like a total donkey in the low limit games for the rest of his life and still retire handsomely.

Since it's mid April the running tax jokes that come up when people ask me are "unfortunately, my taxes are depressingly honest," "you know you're wealthy when you can afford to pay your taxes," and "it's one thing to win, but it's another thing entirely to win and know you didn't have to cheat," the last of which, of course, is not a joke.

The thing about poker is that when you get right into it you're not really so much competing with your opponents, you're competing with yourself. Your opponents just sort of set the context. So the way it works out is that even if I were playing against a huge spot I would still likely find the match challenging, not to win it, but to extract the absolute maximum.

--------------------
HAND #1
--------------------

Full Tilt, $1,000/$2,000 Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
Hand History Converter by Stoxpoker

David Benyamine: $60,467.50 (60.5 bb)
Freedom25: $59,466.50 (59.5 bb)

Pre-Flop: Freedom25 is BB with 8 5
David Benyamine raises, Freedom25 calls

Flop: ($4,000) 7 7 8 (2 players)
Freedom25 checks, David Benyamine bets, Freedom25 raises, David Benyamine calls

Turn: ($8,000) K (2 players)
Freedom25 bets, David Benyamine calls

River: ($12,000) 2 (2 players)
Freedom25 bets, David Benyamine raises, Freedom25 3-bets, David Benyamine folds

Results: $20,000 pot ($0.50 rake)
Freedom25 mucked 8 5 (two pairs, Eights and Sevens) and won $19,999.50 ($9,999.50 net)
