GL Bryce, though I call BS. Just become half as expert at 6-max PLO as you are at HU LHE and double your BR in 2 years.

yeah I might quit too if I were him. 3 million can go a very long ways if you live in a place where the cost of living isn't too high and you invest well.

If he's that good, he should stay in it - sure, take a break, but if he enjoys poker and has money to support himself, how many people would do anything for that kind of life? And he can coach. Fly all over the world coaching rich people. Much of making a living as a "legit" adult is equally unfulfilling and even embarrassing. Nothing wrong at all with playing poker for a living (if you can do that successfully). To put it in perspective, there are plenty of rich people who got that way in ways that they'd rather you didn't know about. Bryce, on the other hand, can be proud of his skill, and boast about it - it's really quite interesting.

I would bet 10k he's making this post to retire his accounts to start a new one to start getting action from regs again.

I've begun liquidating the majority of my bankroll with the intention of wrapping things up with playing poker as a source of income
Doesn't mean that much IMO. To me, it's just saying he'll play a lot less and basically take himself off "depending" on his poker playing abilities. I'd say a good number of big-time winners don't depend on their playing so much anymore for sustaining their lifestyles. But then there are the big spenders out there...

The Bryce should move DOWN to where people don't respect his raises.

I'd put it all on red and then if I win, I got $6 million. Then you have twice what you have to start from with.

if i had 3 million i would buy a house, invest most of the rest, and play 6-8 10k events a year in the nicest locations possible

you gotta play so high to make appreciable gains in your net worth at that point it can't possibly be worth the stress

NotBryce?

TheBruce?
I prefer Das Bruce, but camping out the yellow chip games around the clock might be a bit conspicuous

I hope he writes a book or maybe some instructional dvd's like Stox
I still plan to continue coaching through StoxPoker (I am not accepting any new personal students right now) which may include some "bigger" projects, we'll see. I am also currently helping develop a piece of software that may be of especial interest when released (sorry, no details, only a big teaser ) which should hopefully be ready for commercial release in around 45-60 days.

Also, for all the kind comments: thank you.

Good luck Bryce!
I always enjoyed your blog and you seem like a nice guy. Its also comforting to know that at least one person quit the game when he was still winning and not bitter.

TheBryce has been my hero ever since I've watched some of his videos and sweated his play. He's a machine. I think Benyamine will be happy with his decision

Bryce, from all of us who know what it feels like to get runner-runnered for 3 buyin pots, or stacking off with aces against A8 sooted, we recognize your reasoning and support your decision to move on. Best of luck.
