The point I was making is that you are implying you use Wampum for your payroll when the NYY use cash. BoSox are just as spend happy. They just dont get locked into such large contracts.

The difference between the Yankee payroll and the Red Sox payroll is enough to add Jorge Posada, Alex Rodriguez, and Mariano Rivera based on their 2007 salaries. That's not trivial. If you take those three off the Yankees even without adding them to the Sox do you think the Yanks finish within ten games of the Sox?

Also as you know, Schilling, Beckett, and Lowell were all acquired via trade and Ortiz was "purchased" for the grand price of 1.25 million. Even the Devil Rays could have afforded that.

Face it, the Yankees have greater resources than anyone and only their own ineptitude can keep them from success.

I just corrected you a little.

That prospect in Hanley Ramirez who is better than Lowell and Beckett. Also if the Yanks weren't ******ed and used there prospects well starting Hughes and Joba they would have been the best team in baseball.
