Re: brag: my place

yeah being a losing player you shouldn't post this here.

still.. nice place... if it was blank i could think of way better stuff. like.. obv we all have our own tastes. i hate rock music etc and would never have a studio in my house. but if it's your hobby then fair enough.

patio is nice. wine fridge is piiiiimp. no aeron/freedom chair is a beat. the big chunky old-style tv is a beat. lcd's are so cheap now.

He was clearly an escort or a fluffboy. Why else wouldn't he want to disclose it.

That's my vote. Can't make enough money to get a place like that doing freelance web work, sort of by definition. What's the kind of business that would hire a random 22 yr old college dropout? Only one that couldn't afford better...

Someone gave a 300 pound / day number, that's a ridiculous salary for web design work. Is that even possible? Even $300 seems a bit high.

FTR, I dropped out of school at 20 and went to work in television. I worked my way up through the ranks, and now easily make that kind of money as a sound engineer working in sports television. Oh, and doing drugs is a requisite. Not sure it's possible for a web designer, but it IS possible...

haha i knew that would come up. the table is temp for now. it's an old dining room table from my dad's old place. i'm considering desks atm. i'm also considering actually getting a real office.

no, not drugs lol. to reiterate, it's not really me soliciting myself on a per diem basis to random companies that need web design as much as gathering repeat clients. again, i don't do much of the work myself. $3k projects aren't uncommon, and the outsourcing cost usually doesn't even come close to 50% of the quote. it's really all about volume. there are many more developers far more qualified than i.

and fwiw, i have a v large line of credit that i use. extensively.

yeah, i'm not geared up to live in the city. i don't really like it but i have to be there pretty frequently. i wanted to stay close but still have a nice suburban feed.

Nice, though 1st living room looks a little like the home of a Persian rug dealer.
