I dont know about the US because I live in Toronto, but I've been able to compare the quality of houses in Europe with Canada. European houses are built with quality to last long, while new areas in the suburbs of Toronto are being built like chicken huts with fancy exteriors just to make them look somewhat presentable. That's all I think jimpo was trying to say.

Nonetheless, OP's house is a very legit brag. gl with the new house wcg

Seriously, getting a house like that for $350k is something ridiculous... Are houses really that cheap in the US atm or wtf? If I didn't know, I would've guessed that house to be worth something like $1M...

As ezdonkey said in 1st page, it's quite normal to pay something like $200k for a 600 sqm apartment here in southern Finland.
