So ive gotten into online poker again recently and the amount of 2 and 3 outers that I'm losing to is absurd. I expect people to tell me I'm crazy, but what are the odds that I can get all the money in preflop 7 times in a row with an overpair to underpair and lose every single one of those hands? I'm seeing it happen on hands I'm not, involved in as well. Another concerning trend I'm seeing which happened twice within 10 hands was a player all of a sudden making crazy preflop and post flop calls when he had been playing super nitty up until then.

So this nit limps in from CO, BTN raises 4x, I make it 16x from the BB with QQ, and CO calls, BTN calls. Flop brings 5-7-5 w 2 clubs and I have red queens. I pushed all in for 2x pot and he calls with A2 offsuit and catches runner runner to make a flush with the 2!

Then 9 hands later I get into a pot with the same guy who again calls a big 3 bet. I have AK suited and flop trip kings on a K-10-K board. We get all the money in and he has K-2 and hits the 2 on the river. As soon as this hand is done he goes back to being a rock not getting out of line at all, playing very few hands, folding to small bets. Doesn't make any sense.

TLDR but consider improving your poker game including, but not limited to folding more rivers

most live poker guys get tripped out by how frequently the infrequent stuff actually happens.

your brain likes to remember the infrequent stuff. you bump your toe in a dark garage, you're never going to forget that spot. it's a cognitive bias built in to protect you.

It's obvious that he's a superuser that can see the run outs. He was playing nitty cause he saw he would lose the runouts and opponents would have flopped too strong for him to be sure of having fold equity. He's very dumb by making it obvious he's a superuser by calling a 16bb 3bet cold with A2o after playing conservative and then calling 2x pot with naked ace hi. Ignore these bovada shills mocking you. If you check their post history I'm sure you will find a history of them defending Bovada.

@YanasaurBBQ, I know some of the responses you got are sarcastic and aim to ridicule you.

I've been playing on Bovada for years. Not to brag, but I'm a winning player. I think their cards are random (to the extent of my observation). So there is nothing rigged from what I can see. Also, why do you think Bovada would favor another player over you? If anything, it is in their best interest to make you both tie. This way, neither one of you loses, but they collect rake. Poker sites are profitable enough because of the rake they collect. They have little incentive to rig the game, because that will destroy their business.

Anyway, I don't know how much they investigate players who collude, but so far, that has not stopped me from winning. Finally, the only thing I can negatively say about Bovada is their customer support (not A+), and their software (bells and whistles + some bugs) can be improved.

good luck,
hilss

Thank you, I knew I was going to get flamed when I wrote this, but it turns out it was just a ridiculously bad run where every long shot hit over and over again without fail. The problem is that this run happened immediately as soon as I started playing online again after a hiatus since 2011. Since then I'm back to even overall and I had a couple lucky catches myself and my favorites held up at the expected frequencies. I seriously had a point where I got it in 6 times in a row preflop w AK vs Ax and over vs underpair and lost all 6 in a row. It was sickening.

I'm not spending hours going through hand histories to do that. It happened, its variance, and I wasnt used to it after being out of online poker for so long. We move on. Why is it hard to believe that happened? The bad run ended and things leveled out as they should so I'm not hung up on this thing anymore I was just convinced of it at the time because I was running so bad. I couldnt remember having one that crazy when I played back in 2006-11.
