Tahoe is pretty. Reno is pretty chill but snow sucks so I'd opt for Vegas but I'm biased

When we were contemplating where to live, we did look at Lake Tahoe. We checked the weather and the maximum for the day was 35 degrees F. In was June.

We didn't look any further.

Reno's 1700 feet below Tahoe. They get 24" of snow per year, which is less than half of what I'm dealing with here in New England. Last time I was in Tahoe they had 48" on the ground. Nice place to visit in the summer or for a quick ski trip but I wouldn't want to live in Tahoe year round.

Fair enough. I didn't remember the climb from when I was there 5 years back.

Hello Friday!!!!

Suited,

Go to Vegas, if it gets too hot spend the day up Mt. Charleston where my grandparents built a house once upon a time. It's usually 30 degrees cooler up there.

Reno sucks dude. It sucks for poker, it sucks for culture and night activities. If you like rolling hills and cigarette smoke and playing keno next to divorcees hit up Reno.

I've had fun every time I went to Reno but it was usually for the unlv/unr game so I was aaaaaaaaa 96% of the time

Right on, Nat. I lived in Las Vegas from '98-'06. It has its charms. But I was charmed out by '06 for sure. I love Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Mt. Charleston, even if the wild horses on the ski slopes can get a bit shirty, as the Brits say.

I'm surprised that poker would suck in Reno. There's at least 8 places in close proximity to each other that offer it. You'd think competition would force them to offer better games. I could be wrong. One thing I do know is that know-it-all yokels are just as easy to fleece as tourists. They're basically tourists who haven't traveled anywhere. And I can't help but think that there'd be less sharks making a career at the tables there.

I don't plan on staying there, but as a startup/development league, I think I could do worse.

Man that reminds me. I had a hoodie from Ultimate Poker that was the ****in tits that I left in a hotel in Reno

It would be nice to have Absolute, UB and Lock poker stuff to wear out for lulz. I should probably pick up Carbon, Ignition, ACR and Global stuff on spec.

my friend won a seat to the main from Cake Poker, they threw a party at the palms for all the winners and dressed them head to toe in Cake poker gear. I went to the party and still have some of the gear

They used to have the ads with the poker player eating a chocolate cake that was a foot around but 8 feet tall. I can't remember if they went under during BF or if someone bought them.
