I do the same thing. I keep getting deep in tourney's just like you say and take some horrendous beat. I don't play at these stakes though my tourney's are for cheeseburgers. But if I didn't suffer the beats I would be able to move up.

I was 3 handed in 800+ man tourney about year ago, I flop top 2 he pushes when I raise his flop bet. He had A high. Running A's. He had me barley outchipped. 3rd place had like 3 bb's. Oh well one day variance will catch up.

It is the worst feeling. I suppose the only nice thing about getting sucked out big in a donkament FT vs a cash game is though that you're still a winner and you can afford to destroy your mouse. I feel your pain, I would have Ftd an FTOPS if KK>QQ :'(

I hate talking strat in BBV but Im never calling there for a 20x shove with QQ or AK, my calling range is exactly KK and AA.

And it wasnt even metagame or anything, this guy was shoving every pot he entered PF, he never made an opening raise, it was allin. its like he just read kill phil and learned "when you have the big stack, pressure your opponents!"

well it worked out for him i guess, he won the tourney, after winning with K9 vs rains A9, but again he put him to a decision for all his chips

i would obviously call later on if he shoved over every one of my raises, this was the first time that I raised and he shoved. There were I think 4 people with around 7-18 BBs so I wasnt looking to get involved with the chipleader...

call me scared money I dont care. I wanted to avoid confrontations with one of the two players who could bust or cripple me. I didnt think I was playing scared though, I started the FT at about 3.5 million and got up to 4.5 without any showdowns, just by stealing PF. Id fold QQ because im probably going to be against AK or Ax and be 66%+, id rather just keep playing small pots and bust shortstacks

If you actually read the whole the thread the OP said how the player kept shoving with any two cards. He finally woke up with KK and got lucky on the river. Thats why it sucks from him and the other guy is just gonna donate the winnings back to the community so he shouldnt feel too bad in the long run.
