Well I have taken a down swing lately where I suffered an exceptional run of bad beats and coolers. 50% of this was taking things for granted though. On about 7 occasions when I had trips and went all in, someone had the other card with a better kicker, or with a full house. Just ridiculous, and each time cost me a stack. Stuff like that makes me think its rigged, it seriously happens almost every time I have trips, what are the odds of that in 6 game max?

I also lost about 6 pre flop all ins with KK to suck outs with sets or two pair or some other nonsense. I've arrested the down swing for now though. I can't think of a better way to burn money than to go all in pre flop with anything other than Aces, and I'm going back to being more cautious with seemingly safe hands like trips. My usual policy is to only commit all my chips when I know where Im standing, and doing that pre flop is imo pure gambling regardless of the supposed odds. That's a big leak I want to fix, although its sooo tempting sometimes.

It will go up don't worry. The down swing was just a stumble. When I'm winning I always win at high rates. I honestly don't understand how 10bb/100 is supposed to an exceptional winrate because to me its insignificant. I can win that much in a few hands bluffing random pots, let alone waiting for a monster and slow playing it and taking a stack. I am talking micro levels of course.

This is what downswings are son. And they will happen with enough frequency that you cant continue to win at 80bb/100, or 50, or 30, or 20, or probably even 10 given your mental attitude.

Emphasis on FEW HANDS. You cant just win a FEW HANDS and then use that as your template for all play. Anyway it's just an experience thing. There's no point in arguing it with you now that reality is setting in. You've already cut your winrate by 2/3, it will continue to drop. Like arguing with someone that the sun will go down. Just watch and learn.

Maybe, but I believe big down swings can be avoided with experience, its not just about being sucked out. I accept it might be a naive rookie but I doubt it.

50 hands or less. Winning 10/bb is seriously peanuts, and if I played like that id never have a down swing ever because there would never be a need for any real risk. I play to double my stack or more within 100-200 hands, which leads to looser play but its deliberate. I have no time for 10/bb at all.
