I know what you mean, and those things have happened often previously,, and still do, as you can see by the blips on my graph but they are out weighed by the rest. I have also realised that those coolers do not just pop out out of nowhere, there are always signs, so you have the opportunity to sniff them out and fold if you suspicious, although that depends on how big of a gambler you are or how greedy.
If I have a set, and face a huge bet with a flush or straight on the table I just fold. Its not worth it, and I have found in micro that the vast majority of the time, the bets are real. No use looking for a bluff when 80% of the time you lose.
I don't like to gamble, and I basically try to avoid any coin flip situation, with big bets unless its exceptional circumstances. Last night I did something I usually don't do which was go all in pre flop with kings, and of course I got called with pocket aces. I don't see the need for such big gambles usually. I prefer to only put my big money in when Im strong favourate, which means two pair minimum!
