Wow. I had never heard of Brett Mrozowski before this thread. But now that I read every single post of it, I think it's safe to say that Brett Mrozowski is a dirty scamming dingleberry. To think that someone with such an upstanding sounding name as Brett Mrozowski could perpetrate this on other individuals besides Brett Mrozowski is a Brett Mrozowski-sized shock. I wouldn't wish this Brett Mrozowski on any other Brett Mrozowski in the history of Brett Mrozowski. It really just goes to show: Brett Mrozowski, Brett Mrozowski, Brett Mrozowski.

Good luck, OP

I'm a lawyer in the US, and this is simply not true.

The easiest thing to do is to file it as a tort action for conversion of personal property. Even though the original taking was lawful, the detention of the money is not. Since you've made a demand for the money back and there has been a refusal to deliver, all the elements have been satisfied.

Granted, you won't be able to collect attorney fees on a conversion action but you can still get prejudgment interest for loss of use. At least this will somewhat defray the costs because the interest runs at a pretty high rate (10% in my state).

This would be A LOT easier than to argue a contract existed (especially oral).

PM me if you'd like to talk about it.

Brett owes me 1k too. He owed me for coaching for a while, and I completely forgot about it. This thread reminded me, so I PMed him about it. He instaresponded asking how much he owes, and then hasn't done anything since I told him. It's been almost 3 weeks.

You guys are going a bit too far with the whole ruining his mom's name on the internet thing. The mom knows that something's going on. She's not responsible for it. The more ridiculous stuff you do, the more it looks to her like a dumb internet prank perpetrated by 12 year-olds instead of adults trying to get a large amount of money back from her scamming son.

I'm saying the childish stuff is probably making things worse. Getting his mom involved in the first place is probably a good idea, since it seems fairly clear that Brett's not going to budge on his own. There are lots of reasons that it might take a while for his mom to even bring this up with him. If she brings it up to him as "Hey, Brett, some of your stupid internet friends are annoying the hell out of me", we're much less likely to get our money back than if she says "Hey, Brett, did you scam these guys out of $4k?"

i wanna know how the hell speedlimits ended up owing noah coaching. i assume he owed you coaching for someone else?

anyway, i think contacting the parents is 100% standard since he lives with them especially, but trainwrecking them is clearly a bad idea.

I always thought he was a douchebag on AP- maybe multiaccounting or something.

Glad to hear his life is over.

OP, great job-- keep it up and get your $ back.

To sue him in small claims court in Wisconsin, assign your debt to someone from there and have them serve him with papers (at his parents house probably). Should cost about $250 (that's what it costs here).

Would be epic- if it's not resolved when I'm done clerking I have a week off and we can talk- I'm nearby-ish. And I want to ruin his life.
