Brett is over 21 years old. His parents are mature and recognize that at a certain age that their son has to be accountable for his actions. The reply from tutfill is just as immature as many other posts in this unfortunate thread.
Personally, as stated not being a parent myself, I'm pretty sure even though legally he's old enough to stand on his own legs you never cease to be a parent. Family sticks together, if someone is in trouble family should want to help.
And 21 is so young and definetly not an age where you know much about life.
