I'm 25, and I'll turn 26 in this place. Maybe they'll let me have a cake haha. Dude you don't have to send me any money, but it'd be freakin awesome to be able to play over the next few days. Every other dude in here is driving me crazy playing from morning to night.

Believe me I never wanna be broke again. I've been playing for 3 years, and always had around 4-7k in the bank (which came entirely from hours I've worked, no other other source like family etc, no handouts), and always had good food in the house, rent paid on time every time, all bills paid etc. It is only in last 3 months that things went out of control. It sucks because I love poker and enjoy the game so much, but my recent results have made it hard to feel that I'm any good. But I'm not letting it get me down. The Poker Mindset is helping me heaps, it is the only book I've read that actually focuses on the major areas that I need improvement in, like tilt control, BRM, understanding the realities of variance, downswings etc. I'd reccomend it to any players that suffer from poor self control.

As for my plan to not end up back in the hole, I might be moving out of my expensive 1 bedroom unit and into a 4 bedroom house by the beach with 3 other people at less than half the rent. Also enrolling for university next year, cause 8 years of grinding **** jobs is enough.

Sorry for long response, but it's midnight here and I can't sleep. A roomful of 8 guys with an average age of 25 is rarely peaceful

They inform us of what to expect based on the outcomes of previous trials, but there's always risks. I do worry about the long term, but I got myself into this situation and this is a way out. Worst thing to expect with this study seems to be a low pulse rate. They're actually watching me more closely than the others because my pulse dropped to 29 bpm on the first day. It's a pain in the ass coz now I have to be hooked up to telemetry all the time and when it clashes with being hooked up to a holter moniter it means that there are only brief windows of opportunity to have a shower cause I can't when hooked up to all these damn wires. Had my first shower in 36 hours just before and damn did it feel goood.

I play all over the place. Just PLO. I'm going to stay away from cash games and husngs for a while, especially super turbo husng's. Wanna grind small MTT's that I'm actually rolled for. Perfect for while in here because a) They take time, and b) hard to go broke playing $2 tourneys.

Thanks a lot I am able to give this thread a lot of attention because my obligations in here are few.

When you enter the place initially, a security door shuts behind you and can only be opened by swiping a senior staff members security pass. They check your bags upon entry to make sure you haven’t smuggled in any food or drink or anything else that could interfere with the integrity of the blood/urine results/other data. You can bring pretty much whatever you wish to deal with the boredom eg books, laptop, television etc.

Routine varies day by day depending on the requirements of the study. We're sailing along at the moment easily because our requirements are: Wake up, get blood pressure taken, get blood taken, get temperature taken, eat breakfast. Then do whatever until this is repeated 6 hours later.

Then other days you have what are called "intensives". These suck. These are nasty with things like "string pills" and "cannulas" and being wired up like all hell and constant discomfort. So you have some good days, some bad.

I can say that the medication has been administered both orally and intravenously. I don't know if I can discuss what drugs I'm taking... I'm sure I will later on but I just don't wanna push my luck too far... Keep you in suspense

My old housemate used to do these things all the time. Got the number from him, called them up and they fit me in. Had to go through a bunch of screening visits before I was accepted. Had to have a higher than average pulse rate due to the likelihood of it being lowered by the drug, but I figured that years of heart attack inducing bad beats and monkey-tilting would take care of that

lol this is hilarious. I've been lurking this thread for the last 30 minutes trying to go back to sleep. My schedule is messed up from poker and running bad so since Im having a tough time crashing I thought I would join in.

I have no idea how you can do that for so long especially with the string pills. I think for 40+ days is bad enough with a room full of guys (and Im assuming you're not getting any muff in there) and being poked and prodded all day. BTW I fully believe you get that much money, my uncle did it before (and the guy is rich so maybe its a weird kind of hobbie) for a weekend only and he would make anywhere from 1k-2k.
