So its around midnight and I login to Stars to play a few HUSNGs before going to sleep. But instead of registering for my normal $115 turbo, I accidentally registered for a $111 deep+no blind increases. Before I realize this, someone joins and the table loads up.

No biggie, I thought. Might take a little longer, but whatev.

Then the first hand is dealt. ****ing 5/10 blinds with 2000 starting chips are you ****ing kidding me.

Villain played like a ******ed nit. PT wasn't running, but I'm sure it would say he was something like 5/1/0.1, at least during the first few hours. Almost never limps or raises, never bluffs when he does make it postflop. He'd wait a while before acting as if he was genuinely thinking about the hand, except that he virtually always does the same ****ing thing--FOLD. It was so unbelievably tilting trying to win that tournament 5-10 chips at a time.

I asked (at one point, begged) him several times during the match to flip the next hand, but he never responded. I think he was foreign or something.

Funny thing is I checked his sharkscope and find out he's absolutely crushing the games right now. When I clicked his history, I see he's been playing these deep, no blind inc sngs exclusively, probably using this same gay style. At this point I was pretty determined to take this match down, just out of ****ing principle.

I missed two for two combo draws that could've won the match for me earlier but instead basically put me back to square one. Pretty deep into the match I shoved bottom pair + FD on the flop and lost to a made straight. At around the 4h mark, I shoved top pair + FD on the flop and lost to TPTK. They were both ridiculous overbets but I just wanted to be done with the ******ed match. Very late in the game, in frustration, I 3bet JJ all in after he limp/reraises preflop even though I know he had me beat, he tabled AA and they hold up. I doubled him to a 5:3 chip lead. Not too long after that I shove AK after he limps pre and he calls with KK, they hold up. Busto. Where's a suckout when you need one?

This was my first time playing poker as like ****ing attrition warfare or something. I lost

eh knew this was going to come up. I was originally just going to screenshot the tournament lobby, didn't know the sharkscope was included too. If you want you can sharkscope "fansword" on Stars yourself..

Ha ha yeah I've registered for a couple of these by accident in my time too and always asked to flip. Managed to get two people to flip (I've probably registered for about 4 ever).

Stars lobby could really do with a turbo filter or something.

it's actually a nice strategy if you have too much time on your hands...Just play so tight that your villain get's angry and wait for AA and profit will be made!

Hahahahaha. Seems dumb to grind them?? This is probably really profitable for him. He just mass multitables (hence the pause before taking action that OP experienced) and waits for the opponent to go nutso/need to leave etc.

Well with his specific strategy, it is probably the only thing he can beat. Maybe he makes a living from it I don't know, it'd just tilt the hell out of anyone with half a brain to do this day in and day out

I really don't see much of a difference between this and any other kind of hardcore grinding. Hell, I'd be massively amused whenever I cracked another toughboy.

Seriously, write a bot that sits there and waits for someone to accidentally register for one of these things, then immediately pounce. Only play super-premium hands, very simple to program, basically just wait for your opponent to get frustrated and do something dumb. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this thing is a bot, or at least the part that waits for someone to accidentally register and immediately joins.

they're just not worth playing seriously imo. you can get in 3-10 x as many normal/turbo HU sngs in the time it takes to play these.

The Deep HUs suck but i personally love the 15/30 1500 starting stack no blinds increases they are so soft...
