Beat: I have lost all patience. Can't play poker anymore. Turned into a Bingo player - Page 4

After a certain point and once you reach a certain skill level, live low stakes pretty much becomes who can play the longest without getting bored. Like if somebody is able to sit at a 1/3 table for 600-700 hours a year and play diciplined and patient poker the entire time without ever getting bored they are pretty much guaranteed to make an extra $10-15k a year without even needing to be good. This is much much easier said and much much harder to actually do. Ironically, this is also exactly the same reason live low stakes is such a juicy game. People get bored playing 20 hands an hour.

20 hands a hour, so it is easy not to get playable hand in a hour

Was thinking of playing live first time, no chance I will now.

20 hands a hour wow just wow, who would be into that much self harm.

My beat is really the fact that I can't play optimal poker simply out of boredom and lack of focus, rather than "my AK always loses to pocket prrr". Certainly not trolling.

Meant going back to hold'em from PLO when patience was fried and MIA ... was a joke. In PLO most pots you get involved with you are willing to ship - translating that to hold'em game, as a counter measure to boredom, is disastrous.

I will ask this. I used to consider a nitty early table image with the willingness to ship at any time (draw, hand or bluff) as an unusual combination and an asset that really threw other players off. Not so sure now though.

Patience and alertness is key. There are many tough grinders that will probe bet, float and barrel light but need a near nut hand to continue facing a raise. You have to spot those patterns. I did that 4 or 5 times today, mostly with air. And now my brain is fried. There is very little that's more tilting than boredom, especially during a hand when you're pretty much done with it and waiting to xf
