If you do decide to tell your dad, you gotta record the conversation for us. Preferably by phone, with some kind of "Hey dad, I figured out why you couldn't reload when those play money chips ran out the other day when you were playing poker on my old laptop" Would be an epic conversation to listen to.

80/20 this is real IMO

If it's fake, points for creativity/effort, but you suck.

If it's real, and I think it is, your instincts to not tell your Dad come from a good place are truly noble. I'd like to think I would be a good enough guy to spare my Dad the guilt, but man it would not be easy despite knowing it's the right thing to do. FWIW, based on your attitude & what kind of a son you're being, you're going to be a great kid. Refreshing to see a poker degen that gets that enjoying their family > EV. (IMO don't tell him, he'll feel awful and so will you if he forces you to take any of the money back.)

I know this is just going to turn into a ''I believe him'' ''I don't believe him argument'' so here goes with my tiny observation.

In the OP and through out you say that your dad is really terrible at poker and tbh most of the hand histories clearly reinforce that.

Asides from the majority of the flaws in story already stated itt there is two main hands that lead me to believe this is BS.

The first is the aipf shove with AA. Typically those that are new to the game or really poor will limp or slow play s**t of AA. To me the shove looks like a bad play by induced by tilt to a player who is a steady looser.

The greatest indication is the 97 hand. There was no HH involving hands like K8 k7 A7 A6 etc etc, these are hands amateurs fall in love with and play like 100% of the time. To an absolute novice 97 looks like a really bad starting hand. To any player that has played any sort of volume understands that 97 has unreal implied odds, is rarely dominated, never really worse than 35% of equity against AK and is an easy fold on any coordinated or Axx board.

Does your Dad not have his own computer? Why would he screw around with your old laptop unless he had grind on the mind ?

His dad isn't "new" to the game, he's just used to playing play money. And people shove AIPF all the time with those hands in play money, because people CALL AIPF all the time in play money.

Again, he's played enough to figure out that 97 can make a straight, any two cards can win, blah blah blah.

This thread is bs IMO

Dads thinks its play money yet he obviously knows enough to filter the respective game $200 rush nl

Like the fact he plays rush when it isn't tracked on ptr

Also hand histories can be easily faked

Sit in a ring or sng finish a hand copy paste into hand history converter here

Submit into post then change numbers

Why show as position rather than player names? You can delete yours and just have the other players listed

Or not since i guess their play money players and would blow your story

Love also how your mum is sick so you wanna keep quiet about it

So many coincidences, so much bs
