Tell me if I did something wrong.
So I’m playing blackjack and all 7 spots are full. The running count is a whopping +27 with about 4.5 decks to go (True count = 6).
From $25 a hand, I place $125 on 3 spots.
Hero is delt:
Hand 1: Blackjack
Hand 2: A9
Hand 3: A9
All clubs. I know right. Dealer’s up card is a 6.
Dealer pays BJ and immediately goes to 3rd base. I’m like hold on I haven’t said anything while staring at my A9. Running count is still +24. So all that being said, TC is still > 5.
Hero doubles down A9. BAM a face. At this point, two pit bosses aren’t already watching closely and there is a lot of tension at the table. Well the TC is still well over 5 (so even with index adjustments, A9 is still a DD). Hero doubles his second A9 and draws a 3.
3rd base doubles down 10 and draws a 10.
Dealer: 6-4-..
$1,000 swing. Had Hero played conservative, the first face would’ve gone to 3rd base, and the dealer would’ve drawn 3 and 10 for BUST.
Everybody wanted to shoot Hero for being greedy. But Hero had the right strategy deviation index to DD A9 vs 6. And look at the cluster of 10’s and A’s that came out. Hero was almost a true hero when dealer revealed a 4 under that 6.
