What doesn't belong in BBV?

• Staking requests or begging for money. These will result in a ban
• Your blog thread or a link to an off-site blog. Links will be removed and infractions will likely be handed out. If you want to make a blog thread, visit the PG&C forum.
• BBV isn't meant for poker advice. If you want to ask a question about a hand or poker in general please visit the appropriate strat forum

Forum Decorum

Note: This list is not meant to be all-inclusive. There may be things that will be punished that are not necessarily included in here and punishment is subject to moderator discretion.

• Do not hotlink pictures. Hotlinking is when you directly link to a picture from another website. Occasionally web hosting services will turn these pictures into goatse and other various disgusting pictures. You are responsible for pictures that you post so please use a rehosting service.
• On this line of pictures: NSFW pictures should be labeled as such and kept in NSFW threads or posted in spoilers.
• Images that contain any nudity (male or female) may not be posted inline whether or not its in a spoiler. These images can be linked to so long as they are labeled as NSFW
• Stupid and over-repeated memes really aren't funny. Even if you think they are hilarious - they probably aren't. Posting "first" "cool story bro" etc etc will get you infractions
• Posting "ban OP" in a thread 200 times really isn't funny either - seriously. This also results in infractions.
• Do not do anything to evade the profanity filter. Just spell out what you want to say and let the filter do its job. Posting profanity that would normally be filtered in an image is also not permitted.
• Death wishes are not permitted and result in a minimum ban length of 3 days. These include posts such as "you should kill yourself" or "jump off a bridge"
• Nested spoilers and page stretching are not permitted. Not only is not funny - its just really annoying
• Racism will get you infracted or banned

To repeat: This list is not all-inclusive and there may be things against the rules that have been left out. As they come up they will be added to the sticky.

If you see a post that breaks these rules or you want a moderator to look at for any reason please report it. Simply click the button that looks like this to do that.

Effectively immediately stupid, overused memes are not allowed in BBV. If you use one - you better make it creative and hilarious because, if not, you will be punished.

I'm talking about all the stupid, overused memes but to name a few: 'ban op' 'cool' 'cool story bro' 'first!' 'in before/after x' etc.

We'll start off light at first until people get the hint. Warnings for first-time offenders that will graduate to infractions/bans at varying degrees depending on situation.

To clarify "at first" is over as this rule has been in effect for more than 90 days now. No more starting off light.

This is now expanded to trying to start sick combos by posting one letter such as

"c" or "b" while trying for the elusive cool story bro or ban op unless super creative

If you combo off of someone else in a cool, story, bro type way or anything similar you will be tempbanned because of this poster. All thanks due to them.

If you end your posts with a signature that results in nothing but wasted space in the thread (ie: adding unnecessary whitespace to every post you make), I will warn you and then temp ban you.

Other moderators can also feel free to enforce this rule, but if _I_ see it, you're getting infracted and temp banned. Seriously, you are NOT important enough to need to sign all your own posts and this is NO DIFFERENT than posting stupid BS like 'cool story bro' that waste space and people's time. Get over yourself.

I can't believe I have to even mention this, but any racist, bigoted, anti-gay, anti-religion or otherwise hateful posts directed at a group of people for their beliefs, skin color, sexual orientation, etc. will result in an insta 3-day ban.

Since there are some new users here, I want to stress the main rules of BBV and how they are applied:

1) No Strat in BBV
If you want to talk (serious) strat, you can go to literally any other poker-related forum on 2+2. If you post sound, strategic, truly helpful advice, you do so at your own peril.

2) This is a Place to Vent
Let out your whine, your beat, your brag (and occasionally, your variance). We feel your pain, and you will prolly be mocked for it. Some may laugh with you, others at you (likely the latter). That’s the point of this forum, to blow off some steam.

Most likely, your experience IS NOT unique, as personal as it may seem to you at the time. We’ve seen, experienced, and heard it before. Don’t expect well thought-out, helpful answers to your poker problems. This ain’t that forum.

However, on that rare occasion where you do have a truly unique or engaging story, expect to shine like the star you are.

3) Enforcement of the Rules of BBV
Compared to most other 2+2 forums, we are quite relaxed here. Infraction points are a bit different. They are generally very short-lived and, for the most part, aren’t meant to be taken too seriously.

However, like other forums, when you continue to not follow the rules of this forum, or continue despite being warned or told by a mod to stop a particular behavior, you will get infracted (or banned) for realz.

There are a few “sacred” threads where trolling will not be tolerated, and your post quality will be judged…harshly. These threads are few and far between in BBV, and you’ll know them when you see them.
