Averaging 28 BB/hr my first 60 hours back at $1-$2 - Page 9

Ok: I put in a super long session today to reach the 500 hour milestone. Here are my full stats and graphs.

$23,645, or 24 BBs an hour. At $2-$100 spread-limit!

I celebrated on Saturday by having a 3-hour session where I VPIP-ed 95%. Made $150 (all thanks to out-running my All-In EV), and indeed, it was a ton of fun. Everyone is so nice when you’re playing like a fish, and since you play every hand, you’re never bored!

I got my first Royal Flush today! Picked up a neat $640 high-hand promotion, PLUS a fanny pack from their merch store (which was, in certain respects, more valuable.)

BRRRRRRAKING NEWS:

I have a round 2 interview for a job back in the mortgage industry next week. I am extremely confident that I’m gonna get the job, meaning my poker career will finally be over.

I’ve been in a downswing for the last two months, and my overall win rate (over 560 hours) is down to 20.5 BBs/hour.

I did NOT get the job.

And also…my poker career is over again. The downswing wiped out my $2,000 bankroll—I lost my last $300 of it today.

Final stats—including the downswing that ended it.

It’s funny that my win rate in both stints—July-December 2022 and then July-December 2023–were almost the exact same, 20 BBs an hour.

But…oh well. Now I continue applying for work in a desperate attempt to get a full-time job again. Part-time at the Doggy Day Care is not gonna cut it.

That sucks man. Your bankroll was $2,000? How much was your buy in? That is unfortunate since you seem to have a pretty good win rate. We can talk a out bankroll managent all day, but at the end of the day, you have to be in a pretty fortunate position to have the bankroll to play poker. Hard or impossible when your expenses require you to take from your bankroll each month.

I would buy in for $300 each time, the max.

Yeah, at the start of my adventure back in July I had taken out $3,000 in cash, stuffed it in my sock drawer, and that was my “bankroll.” Every Friday I would take my profits and put them in our checking account. But after a few break-even weeks in October I just moved $1,000 of my “bankroll” into our checking account, so my “bankroll” was down to $2,000.

And then over the last month, well…. This happened, lol [Uploading Image...]

Bro, less than 7 buy ins and you were destined for failure. Not sure if your financial situation allowed for it, but the play would be to grow your bankroll until it was sustainable. Even if you deposit some of it in the bank.
