Background info: It's a 5/5 NL (Max buy in $1000) and the game is basically where every one just has to see a flop. A $35 raise will routinely get 5-6 or more callers and even if you reraise, J7suited is gonna call. Every pot was huge.
I bought in for $500, played only a few hands all night and had built my stack to around $2200.
IN BEFORE: Op is a scumbag, op is an idiot, op is a d-bag, or anything along those lines.
I'm in MP. It is folded to me and I raise to $25 with
A9.
A millionaire to my immediate left calls.
CO calls.
BTN tosses a $25 chip that falls so close to CO's five reds.
SB folds, BB puts in $45.
5 seconds later BB realizes that it was BTN's call and not reraise. He said he thought BTN reraised but since it was not minimum, it's not a real raise anyways and that he meant to call.
Every one was like who cares he meant to call to it's a call. But I objected and I demanded that we enforce the right rule. Since $45 is a valid reraise ($5 to $25 to $45). There was yelling at the table. BB was forced to put in the $45.
Back to me, I toss in $180. The millionaire goes "you know what, I have sh*t but you pissed me off!" as he slams his entire stack of seven blacks in the middle.
I was gonna fold but he was talking way too much like he doesn't care about money and money means nothing to him. And I'm thinking if he's that strong why not reraise me when I put $25? Then he's like he doesn't care if he has the best hand and he's hoping to suck out on me because he doesn't like the way I act. Pretty sure I have him beat, but not by much and figured if I lost I would still have about $1500 left ($1K profit) so I made the call.
Board runs all babies until the beautiful
A hits the river. The millionaire only had
K4 and kept saying he didn't care about money. He then challenges me to 100/200 NL for a million dollars (lol?) and I promptly turn down his offer (because I don't gots a mirrion dorrars
) so then he insta tells me to STFU.
Everyone at the table were talking about how I made BB put the $45 only so I could reraise and steal the pot. To my defense, I once had a $900 pot taken away from me because of certain "rules" even thought I had the winning hand, showed it to everyone including the dealer but put 'em face down and it was declared a muck.
A few hands later, the millonaire raises, 2 call, flop was something like
8-3-8, millionaire c-bets, both of us fold and he shows his cards to his opponent (but not me). So I demand a show-one-show-all rule and get to see his hand. He tells me "you're warned". I laugh on the inside like WTF is he talking about does he have his boys waiting for me outside or what lol?
Brag: Took almost $3K from 5/5 NL, left as table captain.
Beat: Enormeous migraine forced me out of the juicy game early.
Variance: Lost almost $2K in sports today.
