Am I worthy of moving up to 5NL with this run? Am I worthy of moving up to 5NL with this run?

As you can see from my graph, I'm winning at a rate of 8bb/100 over 50K hands. I've only just become a winning player at poker in the past year.

I feel very comfortable at 2NL and I will have 30BI if I move up to 5NL ($150 bankroll). Is it time to move up stakes or should I wait until I've played more hands and won more money?

Put it all on the table at the 500NL.

No, you should play another 200k hands at playmoney stakes because apparently you do not know what to do with your life anyway.

If you can play comfortably at 5nl go for it, the lvl isn't that much harder, except people tend to be a little more LAG in my opinion. Just make sure you keep enough buyins for nl 2 at any time and you're free to take shots ofc.

Yeah, move up ASAP, 30BI is good enough for 5nl and you can always go back to 2nl if things go wrong.

The virtue of giving a **** enough to track your hands and ask questions online means you're ready to move on from 2nl.

I have 28 dollars bankroll and play at 5NL you just have you get used to people betting 15 preflop. You win a similar amount of dollars. For instance on a good day I'll double the buy in on the 5NL and get 11 dollars on the table.

it's about the same as 2NL. In fact I multitable two 5NL and one 2NL. I win more on the 5NL tables.

I don't know how anyone could still be playing 2NL after having a bankroll (by this I mean actually on pokerstars) of over 20 dollars.

You think there's much skill level increase from 2NL to 5NL? I think it's safe to say there isn't. 51 thousand hands of 2NL is suicidal. I might be a new member to this forum and not know the same lingo as many of you, but ****, at least I can spell.

Not to mention are you currently playing 5NL or 2NL? No, you aren't. It's the same ****, different buy in.

You can sit on a 2 cent table all day folding waiting for good hole cards because the BB doesn't bleed your stack.

Sitting on a 5 cent table bleeds your stack a little more.

Why would anyone with 80 dollars winnings be playing at 2 cent tables?

you have 5 bucks on the table in 5NL and if you get good cards and have a good table you get up to 10 bucks pretty easily.

you have 2 bucks on the table in 2NL and if you get good cards and have a good table you get up to 4 bucks pretty easily.

And that's why after over 51 thousand hands he still only has winnings of 80 dollars.

You have $28 playing 5NL??? It's not very hard to go on a 6BI down swing and lose your bankroll. As you can see from my graph, I'm winning pretty consistently at 2nl and I've still suffered 2 x 10BI down swings over 50K hands. I think it's important to have good bankroll management, imo.

I don't move up stakes until I have ~30BI at the next stake. Maybe this is too conservative and maybe I'm wasting my time at 2NL, but I love the poker a lot and enjoy playing, so I don't perceive it at as "wasting time". I'm in no rush to move up stakes, it's just a fun hobby for me.

What about if I'm just playing for 1-2hrs each morning as a hobby? If I lose I don't mind, it's money that I can afford to lose because I started out with $60. I don't plan to continually deposit money if I consistently start losing.

<other ****>
If the bb is related directly to your max buy-in, you DO realize this can't be true..?

Obviously. I more meant that watching your stack go from 5.00 to 4.85 in a couple blinds is worse than watching your stack go from 2.00 to 1.95 in the same amount.

Your stacks bleeding is relative to the stack but it's still bleeding more quickly.

but you knew all this, didn't you.

I expected way less "serious" answers in a 2NL thread, that's almost confusing... as if BBV was actually filled with 2NL grinders who are impressed by OP's results and don't dare trolling him

Anyway, congratz OP, if you get the thrill you need at these stakes and don't plan to make real moneyz from poker, then keep doing it the way you did so far.
And yes, you should take a shot as soon as you can bankroll-wise, don't waste too much time on a limit when you're rolled for higher !

OP, why would anyone post on a forum asking if they should move up to the next limit and show proof of the ability to do so, even using the words "worthy" in their post, before arguing that they want to stay in 2NL because they're happy there.

That's all.
