Just checking this is a bad beat:

I think I was MP, I make it 15 at 1/2 with AKhh, 4 callers, I only started with 90. So the pot is $40 and I have $75 behind before the flop even comes. Villain is LAG that bets his draws aggressively.

Turn is a brick, 6c or something, I bet $20, villain puts me all-in for the last $25, call.

Since I'm here in bad beats I'll let cha all guess which of the four or five hands I ran in to.

But I'm pretty sure this is a hand I shouldn't be worrying about too much.

Sometimes your opponent flops the absolute nutter butters. The only real way they get paid off is if you have trips or two pair.

Just kinda the perfect storm for em. The luck comes around.

There are various definitions of 'Bad Beat' and 'Cooler'. They very well could be interchangeable in your area.

If your opponent Flopped a straight here .. that's a cooler, not a bad beat IMO

If your opponent had AcKc and Rivered a flush .. that's a bad beat in my book

You could also try to separate the terms based on the percentages that the V had to overcome. If a V only has 3 outs and hits .. that's a bad beat, not a cooler.

A-high v K-high flush is a cooler, not a bad beat

Set over Set 'on the Flop' is a cooler, not a bad beat since both Players had to overcome the same odds simultaneously. But a Player floating with an over-pair and hitting a set on the Turn may be considered a Bad Beat.

Flopping top two and having it not hold up doesn't qualify as a cooler or a bad beat or anything else other than "hmm, a poker hand."

Bad beat is you started the hand with $90

Beat: 5 people put in $15 and then they only get to play for $40.
