Pretty sure statistically im suppose to have cashed at least one of these times right?..poker gods hate me

Top 5 normally pays 3 of those time been the bubble boy

Last night was actually my strongest coming to the final table 88.3k with 45k av. Blinds 2.5/5k First hand i get hit with 19k second hand i get AK UTG (Chip leader other than me) makes it 11.5k one caller- i pop it to 25k UTG calls other folds, flop comes K 9 6..he checks i shove remaining. He ends up having a set of 6s

Could i have played this differently to survive here?

12bb with AK and one raiser you gotta ship.

If your goal is to survive fold but then your a loser obviously.

Statistically you probably made 6 more final tables than you should have, on average.

Maybe other guy lays down sixes if you shove pre, some people wont want to give up a big stack in that scenario where they feel they can control the game and 66 isn't really that great of a hand. Sometimes you get stuck in situations like that where you're always gonna get it in and (in that instance) always going to lose, same goes with AAvKK, its like sex with Kobe Bryant, kick and scream all you want but its gonna happen... that's poker.

You're coming to a FT 2nd in chips with 17.5bbs, this is always going to be a high variance FT. You are going to need to get lucky and probably more than once.

Do these players chop every time the bubble bursts? Is it 3-5 of the same people there every time? I ask b/c I've noticed when I play these small junkers at local casinos, I am the only one the dealer calls sir, everybody else is known by name, the dealers are asking about their kids/families etc. When everyone knows everyone but you, you're the odd man out, the guy with the target on his back.

My advice is save up (if you need to) and play bigger games, the bigger field games pay better, and don't usually end up so short when you get to FT. My favorites run along the line of $350 buy-in with 200k gtd or my all time favorite, the one they run at HR Hollywood a few times a year the $350 w/$500k gtd (1667 players needed to meet guarantee, usually hits 1800 or more).

I think all but two of the 6 i played they went with the chop. Sometimes its top 3 paid sometimes its top 5..just depends on the player pool- its a rather small tournament 30-40 players max.

Yes, its usually the same faces at the final but ive seen some of those familiar faces get knocked out early. Hopefully my turn will come when ill bink it but the way its going ill be even when i do cash.

You have 15bb (I'm assuming by "get hit with 19k" mean you lost 19k). There is a raise and a call before the action is on you and you decide to raise it to 5bb (i.e. 1/3rd your stack).

Anything other than jamming was super bad.

Yeah i figured it was the right move, just rather unfortunate - and yeah that was 19k loss the first hand

nah the jam..i mean im 100% i HAD to raise there right esp with 1 caller to his intial raise? maybe the pricing could have been different though.

I definitely would never consider flatting 11.5 esp with 2 others in that position and last to act..the fact that he was the chip leader makes me think the only thing to get him to fold in that position was either a 8-9x which was basically my all in.

my preflop action is what i have been questioning

Wow op hasn't cashed in 6 MTTs? This must be a statistical anomaly. Also, fold the river.
