Oh big time. I'm actually a mediocre at best online player but I crush live 1/2 games bc I'm good at table/time/day/seat selection and being a dealer I've dealt thousand and thousands of hands at live tables so I know how to adjust to live donks.

That is why I will raise low suited connectors and trashy suited stuff ip at these tables. I flopped two pair the other weekend with 23s and after I showed it down I was getting paid off with everything. They'll see one hand like that and it'll colour their entire image of you. I had a guy cr shove an opsd on the turn when I had overpaid kk on a dry board just bc he thought I was an out of line lagtard due to that one hand. I was up almost 3 buy ins in less than 3 hours

Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lots of loose oil/trade money floating around from guys who have watched a few episodes of wpt. If you're there on a Friday or Saturday night it's pretty much like printing money. I didn't start playing live until semi recently and since it's 3 hours away I don't get out there much, but it's so soft. I've played less than 30 hours and I'm up over 2 grand. I know it's a heater and I can't run that good forever but I haven't had a losing session yet.

Like these games are literally looser than 1/2c games online. Even the guys who kind of know how to play tight prefl are easy to exploit. They'll see how loose everyone is and think that all they have to do is tighten up preflop and they'll stack off with any overpair or top decent pair with a good kicker.

How can anyone not beat live poker.

OP I am willing to coach you as an LA player I can teach you how to beat poker here. If you are struggling with beating the $40 and the $200 at Commerce there are major issues with how you are playing bc those are 2 of the most beatable games anywhere but you have to make some significant adjustments into how you play as compared to online poker. I will also teach you game selection and when/where to play at what time to maximize your winrate.

Free tip: If you really think the rake is an issue you are missing the reality that LA players will easily call 2-3x larger standard raises with much weaker holdings than online players + a much higher frequency of all-ins and multi-way all-ins.
