Well, I can't believe it: after a huge EV downswing in December in which I ran -$800 in EV @ NL50 over the first 8,600 hands I some how managed to turn it around to end the month. In the final 1400 hands of the month I managed to get it all back. It is a Christmas miracle for since December 25th, about 1600 hands I ran an EV of 103.73 bb/100 and I actually ran 1bb/100 ahead of EV! I made back $825 in EV over those 1600 hands and that brought my December EV from -$825 to +$18. I assumed this was going to end my streak of +EV months which dates back to July but I somehow managed to keep the streak going.

As for my EV to win-rate, for December the gap closed somewhat as it was the first month I have ever run above EV with an expected win of $18 and an actual win of $426. This means that in total I am now running about -$1000 below EV over a sample size of now 51,885 hands. At least the the green and yellow lines are moving in the right directions!

Here is my December chart

Seems like you ran hot for a while. Red line will keep going down now and will get you rekt. Lucky for you it seems to be only play money.

I know right - i would trade all my EV and showdown winnings for a bump in my non-showdown winnings. But alas, it’s hard to get non-showdown winnings when you constantly get villains to showdown with worse hands. Dash it all - everyone knows the mark of a man is how much he wins without showdown!

Love the logic here - it is luck that over 100,000 hands I’ve maintained an EV of about 14bb/100 but somehow the recent drop in non-showdown winnings over a small sample size is a sign of bad things to come.

So guide me wise one - how do I bump up my non-showdown winnings while maintaining my high showdown win rate?

Open limp 4-bet more
Triple barrel min bet more against the fish
Slowplay your big hands
Don't fight the table captain. Show him respect.
When in doubt, fold more rivers.

Why would I be upset over your running well?

As for me - **** continues:

Got it all in with a straight 3x today, all with above 70% equity and lost all of them.

6x over the last 2 days I called Jams holding TPTK or better vs a flush draw and lost every single one of them.

Ffs **** just keep happening...

CO open to 2.5, Btn calls, SB 3bets to 12 and I 4bet to 28 from BB with AQh - SB calls.

Flop comes out Ad Jc 6c

SPR being just over 1 I jam and villain calls...

He shows A2c

Turn 8c
River 10c

If I remember right that is like 8 or 9 times in the last 2 days that villains with flush draws have jammed or called a jam on the flop and hit.

It’s great for the EV lines - not so much for winnings.

On your site can you take cashouts? When this happens to me a few times I start cashing out when I'm the favorite to get closer to my All-in EV...

Whit continues - situation normal.

Get it all on in the flop with a K high straight and lose to a dude with a set of 9s who spiked a full house on the turn.

- I am now getting closer to 26 buying below ev

Earlier in the day I myself jammed a nut flush draw on a guy who had 2 pair - I hit my flush with the same card that gave him a boat...

It seems to me, based on the hand histories you provided that you are constantly playing tilted. Just chill out man, poker is supposed to be fun.

You probably lose sleep because you get so emotional about the results. If you don't get enough sleep you'll start playing too many hands and you will lose the ability to effectively read your opponents at the tables.

Get some good night sleep, start playing the game again feeling fresh and exited. Trust your instincts and the moment you feel some tilt coming up stop playing.

Thanks Dr. Fellatio,

But I’m just fine!

Maybe you should spend a little more time being productive and less time hovering around in the bad beats section...

Well, it's not been over a year and +100,000 hands and nothing has changed. I am still 26 buy-in's below EV, running an EV of 9bb/100 with a win rate of 5.9bb/100. On top of that, over the last 30,000 hands my EV wins has barely increased because I have run into a never ending supply of coolers and counterfeits. It is just unbelievable how often, over that span of hands, that I've had to fold good hands on the river after dumping 1/2 my stack into the pot because the board runs out 1 to a straight or flush and the villain jams on me. The board runouts have been absolutely horrible - I can't make a strong hand without a flush coming in which either 1 kills the action, or 2 beats me. Add on to that a seemingly never ending run of bad-beats on hands where I get 200+ bb into the pot.

Bro im playing basically same stakes and im running the same. One piece of advice is to just not give a **** about it.Thinking about it constantly when ur winning makes u make poorer decisions. Also ur not playing that many hands to begin with.
You are crushing them overall so there is no issue there with enough hands on the book it will swing.I was like 25 BI above EV to 30BI below EV swing and im still like 10-15 BI below EV but its coming abit back and it swings around mostly below EV.As long as u don't give much **** about it and play your best game ur gonna do great don't post around about it dont think about it too much just play your game.
