You'll feel better and get those crazy thoughts out of your head if you watch the 1995 alternate director's cut of Highlander II called the "Renegade Version" that was released to home video and attempted to address the many story problems, such as removing all mention of Zeist and the idea that immortals are aliens. Or you can also watch the Special Edition DVD release in 2004.
