You are correct in your assumption that a bigger bankroll is required, but I don't think they are softer than the $8s, but that's just a side note.

I would say $1k is a solid but risky starting roll, and $1500 is a great place to be but $2k would be the ideal bankroll for $3r's imo. I personally prefer playing in very low-stress environments and that starts with bankroll management and game selection.

Do this: Grind $2's while you learn. Don't start taking shots until you have played at least 1k games with a 20% roi or more. Then start moving into the $8s, because switching structures completely while taking a shot is absurd (haha)! Stick to what you know and trust me the $8s are as soft or softer than the $3rs. Ok so grinding $2's and have your 20% ROI, now you oughta start loading 1 $8 each time you get HU in a $2. Do this for a week, then starting the 2nd week, load an $8 each time you get 3 handed in a $2. And then the third week load one each time you make it 4-handed in a $2, and so on and so on.

Don't rush the $3r's. They are basically mini-MTT's and the reason I am doing so well is largely due to my MTT background and the fact that I study a whole lot (well, I get coached) for deep-stacked MTT strategy and that simply puts me pretty far ahead of even the best regs in those games, but that doesn't mean you can expect the same obviously. Do YOU, don't try to be me. I tried to be my coach and got my ass kicked before realizing that I need to triple up on my strengths and focus on what I am good at and most confident at.

I am taking a different approach today and playing exclusively rebuys, $8's and $2.50's. Less tables, more focus, more VPIP'ing and more winning. It's refreshing as **** so far

I finished up yesterday with a modest $200 profit and just started today off with a $15 on-demand win for $260. I also made a side bet for today with some friends on facebook and I gotta profit $1k+ today and im getting 2:1 on that as well. Lets go!
