I would be interested to see this graph with "just all ins" selected? This is the only true way of measuring how much opponents are sucking out on you, right?

YUK It puts my bad run into perspective. I play considerably lower limits but I lost in the region of 3000BB over a two month period. I think I got a little tilted towards the end. My name is JRT1712 and I'm a recovering sick beataholic.

Re: 08 so far...
To put it in perspective, there are people who run waaaaaay worse than you. They're the people who the wheel of fate ensured they were born into poverty and AIDS in Africa. They're the people that get hit by lightning twice in the same year. They're the people who lose their entire family due to a bunch of independently unlikely accidents. And yes, there must be people who run worse in poker than you.
There's about a 1:25,000 probability of this happening. There are many more poker players than that and far more people in the world than there are poker players. Thus, there are surely people running even more improbably bad.
Don't get me wrong, this still sucks. It frightens me that there's nothing I could do about it if it ended up happening to me. But you can take some consolation in resigning yourself to the fact that someone has to exist on the wrong side of variance, but at least you're not even further to that side than you already are.

Re: 08 so far...
The really sick thing is that if he continued playing at this rate for the rest of his life he'd still probably never cross over into positive EV (In terms of buyins, not $$$).

Uh... this is the case for every single person running even slightly under. His expectation is to run exactly at expectation, thus, half the time he should run worse, half the time he should run better. However, some of that half the time he runs better he doesn't make up the whole 75 buyins, thus you can say for anyone that they "probably" won't cross over into positive EV.

Re: 08 so far...
I just read this whole thread. I am a past 2+2 and am going to start posting here and there.
This is pretty sick.
TRUST me when I say it can be worse. I used to play high stakes at FTP, got way over my head after a -10BI variance, moved way to fast up, and nearly tanked all of a 6 figure bankroll.
Keep at it.

In my opinion, OP should think about how there is someone out there who has run as good as he has run bad See, the world is not such a terrible place, some people are very very lucky Think about them and be happy! Why concentrate on the negative!

Did you send them your EV graph?
I have a ****load of respect for you just for being able to play through this. After i run extremely bad for like 15k hands im just like i quit.

Re: 08 so far...
What's really sick is that in the time since I made this post about a month ago, I've run another 20 buyins below equity at higher stakes.
Funny how things have a way of evening out.

Re: 08 so far...
holy **** how is this even possible
OP:
when I start running bad, I go play Razz. You seriously need to consider taking up Razz. It's a game about running bad.

Re: 08 so far...
Make sure that your Pokerev graphs are correct. That program is compatible with like umm.... nothing. It fails at Ongame, Pacific, Micro etc.
