Thin river bet or take showdown? Thin river bet or take showdown?

20/40

Folds to me in middle position and I have KsKc and raise.

Folds to blinds. SB is aggro, sticky and a generally tricky good player. BB is butthole tight but solid.

Flop is Jh8h6c. Goes check, check and I bet.

SB calls, BB now raises and I 3-bet. SB folds and BB 4-bets. I call, electing to not cap as I hate my hand now.

Turn is 4s, he bets, I call.

River is the 3h and now he checks. Time to check back or go for thin value?

I'd bet unless you have a history of BB being MUBSy.

To be fair, BB's description sounds a lot like someone who may fit the above description.

If BB is who I think it is, you have to bet. He never has you beat here. I'd probably raise the turn also.

Would consider calling flop to delay raise, turn 3 ways.

As played would consider raising turn but depends on how narrow you put flop 4 bet range as.

As played I would always bet with intention of bet calling 100% of time absent extensive history or extensive reads.

i don't think i'd bet with any of my j's and if villain decides to only call aj and sets, kk's is still a favorite. i don't see a c/r coming since he should expect c/back often.

You may want to make a quick checkup of your flop play if tight solid is 4betting. It could be that the free card play is simply a feature of the player pool and he reacted unthinkingly. But if he's solid and not prone to autopilot and still 4bet *you*, ask yourself whether you're making free card plays like this on the regular.

I'm not sure why you're assuming I'm some sort of free card play artist. I raised this flop for value.

this time, with KK, yes. I was asking whether you make free card raises with other parts of your range. I could have been clearer.

It's a fair question, though. If you have legit questions about a river bet then you think he's 4betting oop with QQ/Jx when you *could* have all the sets and overpairs. The read is he's very tight and solid. So why would he think 4betting QQ/Jx has value? It would have to be because *he thinks* your flop 3bet has a lot more than sets and overpairs in it. So I asked you to think about what else is in your flop 3bet range that he can't count on you betting the turn (for getting in a kr). No offense meant.

I think I've raised the flop with the specific intention of checking the turn like twice in the last 6 months but I would definitely 3-bet this flop with my strongest drawing range. I don't really ever make a "free card" play.

I can’t think of anyone in that game that I wouldn’t want to get one more raise in somewhere and where I would check behind on the river.

with the info i have

i like flop 3 bet. i like turn call. I bet fold this river. I think it's sorta close and I wouldn't raise an eyebrow if somebody checked vs that guy.

I have a slightly different image i'm sure but meh.

I'm pleased that this hand elicited some different responses as usually the hands I post are me butchering easy spots. Makes me feel better about not being sure what to do.

Spoiler:
I suspected I was beat but I bet river, he called and had J8.
