Passing this awful news along from Wyman in BFI forum, tho I have no way of confirming it.

I wasn't close to him, though we had some good interactions over the years, but I thought folks might like to know. RIP.
Barron contributed a lot to the minbet forums in the early days (he was a mod in highstakes limit) and eventually moved into finance, working w/ the department of Labor and Bridgewater Associates before eventually moving into the crypto space.

Condolences to his friends and family.

Saw this on Twitter too. Very sad to hear. Heard nothing but positive things about him over the years. A true 2p2 legend.

We connected over poker at foxwoods and nerding out on 2p2 years back. I'll remember his passion for women, skiing, rap music, and tennis. My condolences to friends and family. Rest in peace, Barron.

Heard the news this weekend. Used to play with him in AC and chess with friends. Great and fun guy. Very sad news. He will be missed by all.

Met Barron in AC a few years back. Very smart and personable dude. This saddens me a lot. RIP.

The part of his work history at Bridgewater he used to talk about since I know them well. He worked there for a short time about a decade ago, but he learned a lot in that time. He thought pretty carefully about some things and I enjoyed talking to him. Was really sad to hear that he succumbed to his long-standing medical issues

Ah, that's sad.

He and I were never friends, but we played a ton of hands together on Stars and always chatted back and forth on there.

Found this article about him from 1993: https://www.nytimes.com/1993/04/05/n...computers.html

Basically he created a video game at the age of 13 to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah, and had people at the reception take turns trying to beat it.

Obviously a brilliant guy.

Sucks how some people just run really bad when it comes to congenital health issues. 39 is way too early to go.

RIP

Wow! What the actual ****?!?!
I didn't know Barron all that well personally, we met few times, played in the same live game about a dozen of times but his 2+2 contribution was invaluable to me in the early stages of my involvement with online poker. When i was just starting playing online he was already crashing Paradise 20 and 40 games. Back then his style of play was way LAGier than most of posters here and his situational awareness was just top notch. Gosh this is so sad...RIP DcifrThs

Knew him from playing 40 at Borgata and Parx. Really good guy and very sad to hear. I know he was having some health problems last time we played. He always had a positive attitude and outlook on life. I hope they have skiing in heaven.
