And yes, it did make me feel young.
A month or so ago I got carded on two consecutive days in front of Mike Sakamoto (he's a supervisor or some kind of executive there, I forget his exact title). The second time he just started laughing at me and told the security guy, "What are you doing? He lives here!"

Going to commerce and vegas this week. How are the mid-stakes games there (particularly commerce)? Looking to play up to the 40.

They are plentiful.

Doesn't look like they're that plentiful in vegas. Why is the vegas limit scene weaker than california's? I guess I'll be donating most of my monies in LA then.

Take their money, buy them a drink as you leave.

OK guys, help me plan my L.A. trip --

Going 10/19 - 10/21. Have time for 4 sessions of 20/40-ish LHE. Will also check out any small stakes mixed games or Stud varieties.

Sunday 10pm-1am, Probably Commerce.
Monday 11am-7pm Hustler???
Monday 10pm-1am Bike???
Tuesday 11am-1pm, Commerce

Planning to play at Commerce Sun. and Tue. because I'm staying in downtown L.A., but I want to check out Hustler and Bike. If neither of them have a decent daytime Monday game, maybe I'll check out one Sun. night and go to Commerce during the day Monday.

Main priorities, have enough games so I don't have to sit around and wait for a seat.

Any other casinos spreading mid-stakes LHE? I've been to HG and don't feel a need to go back...

I am gone that weekend until Monday and I want to revenge my Q10s < Q9s so play at Commerce Monday night.

Interesting hand from Borg 20 must-move last night:

We're 7 handed, I've got Q-Q (with q of diamonds) in UTG+1 and raise. Tow Truck Jimmy calls in the CO, the button calls, and so does the BB.

Flop comes: 2-9-2 with two diamonds, I bet, Jimmy raises, button 3-bets, BB folds, I cap it, Jimmy calls, and button folds getting 19.5:1 closing the action after having 3-bet.

Haha, I think it was Q7s. Anyway, anyone know if 20/40ish games run at Hustler or Bike during the day on weekdays? Or is there only going to be one 20/40 game with like 3 props and one old guy?

I'll be there. I'll only play the stud round.

Today I raised KJo from late position, and a man called. On the flop he told me "I have a flush draw". I value bet my pair of kings on both streets, then checked on the river and called his bet. He had the flush, with the mighty 84s.

A few hands later the same thing happens. I raise JJ and flop second pair. He again says "I just have a flush draw" and pays on both streets. On the river I check, he bets, someone else calls him, and I just fold. He has it, this time with 74s.

A few hands later I have KJ again and again and somehow the aggressor with him in the pot. Once more he says on the flop "just a flush draw". It comes in on the river and say "got it again" and he says "this time I'll show it to you" and bets and opens his 7-high flush (this time with a deuce kicker).

A few hands later I have KJ (soooooted this time) and flop top pair jack kicker. He declares "This is a bad call" and calls. Turn puts a 3rd card below 8 on board and I'm worried. I bet and we're heads up, and he says "Picked up a gut shot, gotta call". River is very straightening and he bets out, then shows me his 85o for a straight before I can even consider calling.

It was just amazing.

Flop comes J63r. She donks, MP folds, CO calls, I call.
Turn 5. She bets, CO calls, I think for a moment and count the pot and think again and look at her and eventually fold.

I'm not really sure if this is a good fold ever, and I don't know that I would do it routinely, or even once ever again, but at the time I was sure I was beat. I dunno... maybe I am too much of a nit.

Anyway, the river is an 8 and she bets and the CO thinks for a while and hems and haws and I'm upset because if he mucks I'll never see her hand unless I beg her to show. But then all is well because CO finally calls her and she rolls AA and I breathe a huge sigh of relief and quietly applaud myself.

Over the next 60 minutes I proceeded to win $1,700.
you are better than me.

borg 20, old nit on my right thinks it is all the rage to slowplay AA pf. i know this because he has been dealt the AA twice in the last two orbits and failed to raise until well after the pf betting round.

so UTG raises, he smoothies in the SB, I 3-bet QQ in the BB. UTG caps. He thinks for like 5 seconds, then announces, "I raise." He is informed the betting is in fact capped.

I lead J high flop, UTG raises, old guy calls two cold real sly like. I think I should fold now. But I don't. I go to showdown for one more bet on each street to see KK from UTG and AA from the SB.

I got a bit of revenge later when he open limped AA on the button and I cracked him with KTs. and the f***er checked behind when I made my flush on the river after I 3-bet the flop oop, called his 4-bet and c/c the turn. I can't figure out who sucks at poker more on that street, me or him.

I cringe whenever one of my buddies wants to tell me beat stories but somehow it's ok to read them on here. Maybe it's because we can stop at any time. Yours kept me hooked all the way thru waiting for the revenge hand that never came .

Nope, wasn't really much of a revenge. I felt him showing me his hand before I could call on the river in the final two hands was sort of revenge enough. I mean, not only did he tell me what he had several times throughout the hand, he actually showed it to me before collecting my 40 bucks on the river. This was priceless though:

Lunatic on my right open limps. He's sane at times, but likes to bluff/spew on the big streets. I limp 55. Someone raises, it's a good old fashioned CF (fuster cluck if you will), 6 handed for 2 bets.

A 2 5

Hay yah! Lunatic bets and I raise it right away. I get two callers, and he calls.

4

I bet, a loose passive makes it 2 bets, the lunatic calls, and I call crying out (in my head for certain, and perhaps even aloud) "Pair the board dealer!"

5

lunatic checks (lol, this is gonna be good I say), I bet, LP calls (sad), Lunatic raises (gorgeous), I 3-bet, LP folds, lunatic calls and says "Full house good". He had Q 7 for the almost nut flush on a paired board....

Edit: For those of you in the know, this was orange shirt guy.

Bakku staked me to the bay 20 game and earned 25BB for his efforts (thanks Marco!). In Vegas in July, DaveR staked me to various vegas 20s and earned 16BB.

I am very stakeable.

Saw Jesse tonight and he had no idea who I was, even after I said "bison". Even though we've met twice in the last 3 months.

His response: "Oh, I get it now."

Tonight at Commerce 60 I got outplayed with the best hand at showdown to the tune of a 1K pot, then cheerfully handed over nine large sized bets drawing dead huhu with 55 on a JJ5 flop. Happy happy etc.

More evidence you don't have a job and just dress like you have one to suck in the fishies

Just play Commerce all weak.

Got crushed yesterday. Best hand was when AA lost to 66 (who capped it pre) in a 6 way capped pot. Raised the turn and got two callers behind. Lost to a runner runner gut shot straight.

I love Bay 101. Really, I do.

My defense: While you said "Bison" I heard "Bryce" and was like "WTF?"

That's all I've got....
