Sundays at the 'Merce are awesome. Was pitching a five-racker six hours in at 40/80 with TPTK = the nuts every single time, then things got a little, well, 'Mercy. Ended up leaving a ten hour session with a mere $1700 profit, which considering the tissue-soft sweetness of the games I was in and how SUPER SICK AWESOME I was playing is probably pretty close to my rate.

To Andyfox - I hope you weren't playing 40 today / are who I thought you might be, because if you're that guy, yikes.

He was uber loose since he played about 85% of his holdings for a limp

IMO: Bremen buys airline ticket to LAX sometime tomorrow. Pucker up, PJ.

NB: I do not intend to imply anything regarding the sexuality of either of these fine gentlemen. My prediction is relevant only in a baseball sense. Please refrain from jokes regarding pitching and catching.

Once again, for like the 36th time this year, I was right about a sports prediction and decided to bet $0 on it because I am a nit with no gambool. Meanwhile, Ben is making millions.

sports betting is less about picking the right side and more about "oh the numbers say this is a play" and getting good prices/betting badly set lines, and manipulating math/betting tools to your advantage. it doesn't sound as sexy as being able to pick which teams are over/underrated, but it makes the bank.

an example is in the nfl where scoring is largely skewed towards 3s and 7s, which means spreads have a discrete looking distribution(rather than a linear one you might see in basketball). if you bet teasers, parlays that give you extra points, that cross important numbers like 3 and the 7 (and to a lesser degree the 4 and the 6), you often end up with the SHIPITHOLLA effect experienced yesterday by most of the SB forum:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=100

remember, its not gambling if you get the 3 and the 7!

Speaking of sports betting, a fellow musician freind of mine bet $10 at 100:1 on the Rays to win the AL pennant at the beg of the season. Sweet! Only bet $10 though! Still though not too shabby

Beat-Gas has come way down in price nationwide but still paid $2.72 @ Costco today to fillerup
Brag-82 degress and light winds in South OC, Ca. today. Ahhhhhhh
Var-The Music Biz in general this year

ARRRRRRRRRGGHHHH! RAIN DELAY! Rain's only going to get worse, which means...game continues tomorrow or Wednesday...which means...Hamels doesn't pitch the rest of the game...which means...I don't want to make the next prediction...

Looks like this might be a good bet...

I know the Phils have the best bullpen, but I'm not confident that Charlie won't find a way to screw this up and decide that Myers needs to pitch the 7th or something insane like that.

When I sit in at the 20 game there are a bunch of poker friends who I start to joke around with. First orbit or so a couple limp in, I raise AQ, folded to BB (a middle aged Asian man I don't recognize) who calls and the limpers call.

Flop: KJ10. Checked to me, I bet and only BB calls.

Turn: 9. BB c/c's and I tell my friends that if I manage to lose this hand I'll kill myself.

River: 8 and BB bets. I raise and it looks like BB is going deep! OMG, and I haven't even seen the Oscar worthy films about to come out in the next 2 months. But, he just calls and flashes the J when I show the Ace.

----------------------

Anyone ever seen this? It's a first for me:

9 seated players. Everyone is dealt in. It's not until UTG is about to act when somebody points out that the board cards from the previous hand are still on the table. Me? I was looking at the cute girl at the cage.

like ben said, sports is mostly numbers game...in addition, some major sports require the ability to gather credible info and the fringe sports require some sense of intuition, but mostly it's a boring numbers game.

on the futures above, im also on minny season ov and spurs under, not high on the blazers as many are, in fact sitting on un44' for them myself. division flyers, took minny +6500, clips +2800 for small, have more important positions on utah and lakers to win those divisions. got atlanta +900 in se division, backside wiz +750, like new hc e.s. for miami. also got philly 2 take the atlantic at +450.

have played like 3 hu sng's in the past 2 weeks, b/c i am dying with some kind of ridiculous fever.

sorry for the clean language in this post, ive been warned about my profanity

im glad i didnt have that ticket, knowing myself, i wouldn't have hedged anything and be daydreaming of what could've been while telling myself, it's okay, you made the +ev move. im sure he locked in his 50-60 dimes of profit though.

i need the other tb to turn around their pos performance this year otherwise racks are going down the drain with my investment in the lightning this year, my god they look terrrible, luckily the rest of the division blows too.
