Free turn card, snap-call river. So yeah, you're getting called by A-high all the time. Hold off on this one.
+1

Especially with the board pairing on the turn and a blank hitting the river, they are calling with A high almost always.

If the turn was a small spade and/or the river was a 6 I could see bluffing the river. Not sure if I like bluffing a river spade when the turn is a blank because he can have a decent amount of spade draws that way.

No they always wait until the turn with top/overpairish type hands, which is what makes the flop/3 so bad. If you cap/lead they will usually fold two clean overs to you so I pretty much cr/4 the flop with anything I am going to continue with against these types.

There are some players who only 3-bet the flop with draws+ace-high and maybe middle pair but wait for the turn to raise bigger hands. Against these people, 4-bet and barrel is a good idea.

It might even be fine against a range that contains overpairs and top pair hands since our equity is fine. The problem is we can't really rep much so they might call down with ace high anyway on blank turn/rivers.

I see the same thing, though there are a handful of tighter players who will do this 3-bet flop/check turn for a freecard but are tightie-whiners (you know the type, always bitchfolding about how AK loses them so much money) and fold the river unimproved. If you see these people in these spots betting the river with J-high ain't bad, as PJ notes though standard villain will call your bet.

Some nice content in this thread. I like.

I just noticed that the 2+2 pokercast is called "Poker Radio for Advanced Listeners". Hilarious.

Nobody seems to have noticed that I changed my undertitle from public nuisance to public option after the watered down health care bill passed. I set the over/under at 6 Republicans who put me on their ignore list.

If you're black and can't rap or play sports, nobody notices you.

It's like male Asian actors. Can you name one that doesn't do martial arts? Neither can I.

Ken Jeong is so good on Community. It's a shame he's ******ed in everything else (really stupid in The Hangover, etc.). Given the right material he can be very funny if he doesn't go over the top.

Also, Captain -- Daniel Dae Kim on Lost doesn't do any martial arts.

I thought he was good in Knocked up and Role Models. I think I am one of the few people that actually liked Role Models. I have seen Community once or twice and really liked it.

I expected it to be terribad, but was pleasantly suprised, probably because of low expectations. The two main characters are pretty thinly written, Ken Jeong was great, easily the best part of the film.

I guess I meant that it is pretty underrated compared to most of the comedies that are similarly slapstickish w/ Apatow type casts.

My first thought on Ken Jeong was: who?

My second thought was: is he the guy who talks to dead people on Lost?

Now I think I know who you guys are talking about wrt Ken. So I lied, I can actually name one Asian actor, John Cho (I think that's his name), who was in Harold & Kumar, American Pie, and played Sulu in the last Star Trek movie. He did some hand-to-hand combat in ST though, so maybe he doesn't count.

I had relations with a republican last night who said she was opposed to universal healthcare because of all the lazy people in alabama who don't want to work. When I explained that there are plenty of unemployed people who are hardworking and looking for work but do not have health insurance, she responded that that was just tough luck and she did not want to pay for them either. Needless to say the relations were bad.

There is nothing worse than members of the opposite sex who are ignorant and opinionated. I can handle hot chicks who know they are ignorant and decline to comment on current events, but the ignorant opinionated ones w/o education and don' t vote drive me up the wall, I don't care what side of an issue you are. The worst is the audacity to believe you are going to convince someone you just met that their entire worldview is wrong. I generally just get up and leave.

How about members of the opposite sex who leave value on the table, who play their cards as if they were face-up, and never get the concept of range balancing no matter how many times you explain it to them?

This is why I only have relations with crazy liberals, mostly strippers and fire performers with the occasional hot science geek.

Mitch, Mitch, Mitch...

Dude, you've got it all wrong. Don't try to convince them of anything at all, especially in Atlanta. It's waaaaaaay much easier to either just agree or change the subject, then go home with 'em and do the man thing. Save the "get up and leave" part for the dawn.

My $0.02 from an old guy you should likely ignore.

I'm the opposite. I had ridiculously high expectations because I'm one of those nerds who drooled over MTV's The State, the most brilliant sketch comedy show of all time. When David Wain went on to do films, I was first in line for each of them. I saw both Wet Hot American Summer and Role Models in preview screenings, and I saw The Ten on opening weekend. I recorded and saved every episode of Stella when it was on Comedy Central and of course bought the box set DVDs of The State.

That said, of course I was assuming Role Models would be the greatest comedy of all time. It let me down because it was only "pretty funny." Not nearly as awesome as WHAS, but still solid. I forgot Jeong was in it -- but I did like his Lord of Denny's character when people had to kiss his ring and stuff. Def. his second best character after Senor Chang.

Trust me I never actually engage in the convo. I just nod my head and try to find a way out. The thing is when you encounter someone like this the payoff is rarely worth the effort. I would rather pay $200 at the massage parlor 2 blocks away where you can guarantee politics won't be discussed.
