This implies that deeper level thinking goes on at 2+2. You're giving us too much credit.

Nope. Believe it or not I fold seven high hands that can only make 2 distinct straights when playing heads-up. Shocking I know.

But you have 2 chances to make quads.

I think he was my first affiliate. Like a year after I started playing online.

Hyperrrank, if you are folding 74 in the bb in hu, you are getting run over.
03-30-2010 , 06:09 PM
Guys, I think hyperprrrank was joking. I'm sure he doesn't think defending the BB with ATC in a HU limit game is "spewtastic."

who cares, I'm sure he doesn't play enough HULHE for it to really matter. And overdefending your BB can indeed be a mistake if you don't play very well postflop, which describes more than a few people who post on 2p2.

I'll come clean, I indeed thought i was serious, if a little hyperbolic. I play a ton of 3 and 4 handed and very little actual HU.

I ended up playing HU tonight for the first time in months and actually almost laughed out loud when I called with 74o from my big blind, not once, but twice.

Well that's why nl sucks.

Oh please, has it really come down to this??? 74 is just ridiculous but defending 47 is pretty much a no brainer aint it?

LDO... your kicker isn't as big of a problem in the 2nd example.

First time post @ MSLHE. Probably a std spot.

20/40 @ local casino.

CO seems like a tightish decent player.

SB is lol-bad.

Hero has only shown tightness so far but is young and probably has an
implied aggressive image.

9-handed. Hero is BB with Js9d

Pre (1.5 SB):
5 folds, CO raises, BTN folds, SB calls, Hero calls

Flop (6 SB): Ts 8s 3d
SB checks, Hero checks, CO bets, SB folds, Hero raises, CO 3-bets, Hero calls

Turn (6 BB): 8c
Hero checks, CO checks

River (6 BB): 4h

Hero ?

Should I bluff with my J-high never, always or sometimes? How about on other river cards, like a spade or a K?

A lot of people 3-bet with overs these days. Not sure why, but it's in vogue at live mid-limit games. They hate getting c/r on the flop when their AK/AQ missed, so they 3-bet for a cheap showdown. Free turn card, snap-call river. So yeah, you're getting called by A-high all the time. Hold off on this one.

do you cap barrel then here on the flop? or is his 3b still overly weighted towards TP+ hands, even with this new vogue?
