Instead we found a nice bar, but turned out to be a high limit room and since I didnt want to play $500 a hand blackjack ($100 would have been no prob), I opted instead to pay $20 per margarita. They were so good it was almost worth it.
to breakeven in that blackjack game (assuming .19% HE and $20 margarita cost otherwise) you would need to drink 5 margaritas per hour. so if you want to be a winner, you would need to drink at least 6 margaritas per hour. are you up to that task?

Who was the third guy? He is bad at game selection.

I feel like I can have my own dedicated thread on river calls. All this talk about ten and jack and lol queen high calls are all weak sauce!

I've called a river bet with 8 high I *believe* 7 times and I won 4 of them.

The other week I called someone down with 6 high, needless to say I lost that one. Really really hard to get much lower than 6 high, I can't really think of any boards where you can call 5 high reasonably.

So I'm at the warriors game right now and they're down by 33 with 8 mins to go in the third. I'm stronlgy contemplating leaving so I can continue my Battlestar Galactica marathon. I'm so disinterested in the game I'm posting on 2p2 on my phone

Although it could work in that sentence without the so, disinterested doesn't mean what you think it does. Since you got nothing but time at the game you're uninterested in, I'll leave you the adventure of looking it up. Common misonception.

Chris, I think you misunderstood why people started posting them though.... it wasn't "what was some of your biggest light calldowns", but instead was what these most you've been behind when getting to SD.

Irrespective, 8 and 6 hi calldowns are pretty animal!

Re: March Low-Content Thread

there was some earthday celebration in vegas tonight. all the casinos shut off their lights. thats like the dumbest thing i ever heard of. at the local joint i was at, it was so dark out, some old person couldve easily fell and theyd be facing a lawsuit.

i did some pitgame gambling today. i lost 3 matchplay coupons and won on 1. i lost on my freeslotplay and i also lost $200 playing slots but got $100 cashback as a rebate for new players first day of play. i bought and lost on $56 worth of bingo cards when they paid double for the 7pm and 9pm tonight and got 2 $25 bingo coupons that i have to use in two separate sessions.

i was playing craps and a dealer kept mispaying me on the donts when the point came up 5 or 9. i had $3 on the dont pass laying $24 in odds. he kept paying me $21 ($18 on my odds bet and $3 on my dont pass bet) when he shouldve been paying me $19 ($16 for my odds bet and $3 for my dont pass bet).

a crazy freeroll situation came up for me playing baccarat. i had a $20 bet on the banker. i was looking away and lighting a cigarette and i tell her she didnt pay me. she said she did pay me. i tell her to call the floor and they have to go view the cameras to confirm she hadnt paid me. she deals the next hand while i had a $20 bet still out there before the cameras had a chance to be checked. the player gets a natural and ends up winning and when she goes to sweep in my bet, i say what the heck im still waiting to be paid on my last bet. so she asks the floor and i say the dealer dealt the hand prematurely im still waiting to get paid on my last bet. so they put my lost wager back and the floor stops all the action until he gets confirmation from surveillance. apparently she paid me then swept the bet she paid me with to pay the next guy. the floor apologized for everything and i got a free dinner comp out of it. if i wouldve won the 2nd wager i wouldnt have said anything and just collected my winnings. so i was freerolling on that 2nd wager.

Weak bluffcatchers are much less fun than superthin value bets, and all of my really really good ones have happened against other 2p2ers.

well weak bluff catchers on ridiculous looking boards are pretty fun. weakest hand that i've value bet successfully was J high though.

can anyone beat ten high?

i asked the dude, apparently the board was AAQQx in not necessarily that order. he limped preflop, i checked. flop check/check. turn check/check. river check, i bet Tx and scoop when he calls with his 9. ez game.

this makes me think of a related question: Do you get more satisfaction out of snapping off a big bluff, or successfully making one yourself.

I certainly prefer the former.

snapping off a bluff with a hesitant turn call and instarivercall is the most satisfying.

betting the river with AJ high and then snap calling the bluff raise you were betting to induce is far more satisfying imo.

Re: March Low-Content Thread

actually, I bet it would be hard to find many players who prefer a bluff over snapping off a bluff....

yah mainly because when you snap off a bluff you will probably get to show your hand while when you bluff you have to resist showing even though you really want to.

that's part of it, but there is something intrinsically more soul-owning about snapping off a bluff imo. With a successful bluff, you can sort of luckbox your way into pulling it off. But when you snap someone off, you have to have known they were bluffing.... or so it seems anyway (ofc, a fish who cd way too light all the time will snap off bluffs too).

I've called and won with 7 high. I call and win with T high fairly often.

Re: March Low-Content Thread

one of the sickest hands that i've seen was like 2 years ago, a guy checkraise bluffs the turn with T high, bets the river, then snap calls a river raise from a guy who floated the turn checkraise with 7 high no pair no draw intending to raise the river.
