yah i didnt show. i didnt want to make the guy feel any worse. let him believe what he wants to believe. i did send a text several hands later just to let someone know though.
I mean if you somehow managed to hide your amazement on your face you should look into acting as a secondary career. Like maybe he thought you were just amazed he didn't pay you off and was all smug like look at the eight cheezeburgers I can haz now that you can't haz now but seriously people are so bad.

well i exchanged looks with this guy Ron i used to play at the redrock often with sitting on my left. when we played 8/16 at the redrock, the rake didnt hurt as much but that game died now. so we both go to this location instead now because the rake is $3 max instead of $5 max and they do a highhand bonus instead of BBJ plus give out food comps and a $1 an hour for playing there.

Generally (obviously we all know there are exceptions), the lower the stakes the worse the players. Worse players make bigger mistakes. Folding his hand in that spot is an incredibly bad mistake, and one that a typical 20/40 or 30/60 player would be far more unlikely to make. It has nothing to do with $8 vs. $60, only that players capable of talking themselves into making such a horrific fold exist in larger quantities at 4/8 games than 30/60 games.

yah that makes sense. im guessing though that this particular mistake might be more prevalent at the 8/16 and 10/20 level though where players with a little bit of knowledge from reading a book or two can talk themselves into making a "smart" laydown when in reality its completely horrible. im assuming most of the time at say 2/4 thru 4/8, theyre more likely to just say **** it and call regardless.

They look the same but the Keurig can be purchased at the local costo so it is definitely the front runner.

I didn't realize it until I looked at Keurig's website, but I used the Keurig during our recent stay at Aria in December. It wouldn't be fair to compare the coffe between the two because Aria only had two to choose from- reg and decaf.

What I can tell you:

1) Both are easy to use. Flavia brews slightly faster and is quieter.

2) Both seem to offer a wide selection of coffees.

3) I think Flavia's biggest advantage is the way it packages its coffee. They come in a slim package with a small plastic "insert" at the top. The insert is snapped into the machine, close door, push button and done. Also, the inserts allow about 20 or so packs to be slid onto a thin rail. This rail can be placed on a carosel with about five other varieties and has a very small "footprint" for storing that many packets.

4) Not sure if Keurig's maker come with an in-unit water purifier, but the Flavia does.

My $0.02.

Jeeze, you guys.

(1) Roast the beans on a tray in your toaster oven.

(2) Grind them up with a mortar and pestle.

(3) Boil some water.

(4) Fold up a paper towel into a cone shape, stick it in an old Melita filter. Put the ground beans into this.

(5) Pour boiling water over the ground beans.

(6) Coffee!

(Alternatively, use a French press for steps 4-6)

Sounds quick, easy and, most of all, convenient.

The next chapter of Alan's book:

Quote:
Why Is Everyone Using Lighters to Burn Things?

Here's how you light a cigarette: You just take a piece of flint or two similarly dense mineral stones, rub them together with enough friction to obtain a spark, and then use that spark to ignite flame upon a dry piece of wood or paper. When that paper has a large enough flame, set the flint stones down and put the end of the cigarette near the flaming paper and voila! You have a lit cigarette!

This reminds me of a NL hand I played at the Wynn. It was 2/5, which is higher than I usually play, and I limped in mp with QJ (suited mebbe) and it folded to BB, who checked. Flop was KQx, I led out for about 2/3 pot, and he folded a king face up. I guess he thought I tried the old limp-with-AK manuever that the better NL players use?

They have one of these at work. It uses K-cups, which are about as convenient as it gets. They have about 10 different flavors here, but I think there's a ridiculous assortment to choose from. It also does tea and cocoa.

Tip if you got one: They buy the cups from amazon super cheap. Cheaper shipped than Costco.

i saw crazy heart with jeff bridges. i enjoyed it. jeff bridges put on a real believable peformance as a washed up country singer. if you liked the wrestler with mickey rourke, you will probably like this film too.

1) fold pf, call flop, raise turn, call river
2) life sucks see you at showdown
3) never fold here, so many ways to win

Re: March Low-Content Thread

Leaving for Vegas tomorrow. I don't expect to play much poker, as I'm bringing two rambunctious midgets, and my wife, and I'm expected to attend Walking With The Dinosaurs with them Saturday. But since our 21 year old ASU babysitter (yes, she's a blonde) is coming along to ride herd on the midgets, I think I'll be able to get 5-10 hours in.

So if I play 30-60, how much cash should I bring so I don't run out within the first 10 hours? Maybe $5,000? Last time I played live I made $11,000 last 28 hours, but I can't assume I'll always run that good, so maybe $7,000 is better?

it's called adjusting. after the first hand he knows you only raise QQ+.

true. luckily the time i 3b his utg raise w T3ss we didnt get to showdown bc then he wouldve dissected not only my 2betting but also my 3betting range, and with that information i could never beat him. still not quite sure how he manages to raise utg, peel on 966 and then fold when the turn is an 8 but im sure happy it happened. and im certain he didnt fold something as powerful as KJ/KQ on the turn since he wouldve already had a pair and two pictures which is rly strong
