dude quoted here is playing poker with me. He's a lot smarter than the average bear. Possibly iceman level IMO.

I'm just excited to meet a human being whose college hoops team could not beat my college's hoops team.

The Premium room (top of the line for the place) I'm booking for my Disneyland trip features "a videocassette player with free rentals" whereas the Deluxe rooms do not.

Who says I'm not balla?

so i came back from AZ with no money. my dad gave me a jar of change in his closet that totaled around $150. i ran that up to $820 now. i bought the American Casino Guide 2010 edition. im going on a coupon run this weekend. i have about $300 worth of EV in free slot play (worth about facevalue) and matchplay coupons (worth a lil less than half facevalue). so if all goes well, it should add a healthy boost to my bankroll.

Oaks 30-60. Middle aged woman who often wears Warriors attire, well known to posters and lurkers who play the Oaks, limps UTG. UTG+2 limps. I'm in lowjack with KT, I limp. Nitty Vietnamese pro (also well known and rather disliked by posters here) raises on the button. Blinds call, everyone else calls.

Flop: AQJ

Checked to NVP, who bets. Limper folds. Warriors Woman raises! I 3! NVP calls, blinds drop out, Warriors Woman calls.

Turn: AQJ J

WW checks to me; I check; NVP checks behind.

River: AQJJ 9

WW checks to me. I figure I've got just enough to value-bet, can fold to a raise with confidence, so I bet. NVP folds disgustedly.

WW sighs, says "Nice hand," and calls.

I say, "I hope so," and show my flopped straight.

WW sighs again, pushes her cards forwards without letting go, picks them up and looks at them one last time -- and then turns them up: AJ for jacks full of aces. There was zero chance she was intentionally slowrolling; she genuinely thought she had lost, until she double-checked.

Watch out for the dino-pies.

So if I play 30-60, how much cash should I bring so I don't run out within the first 10 hours? Maybe $5,000? Last time I played live I made $11,000 last 28 hours, but I can't assume I'll always run that good, so maybe $7,000 is better?
Anyone that gets the wife to approve taking a college blonde to Vegas is already running like god. One buy-in is plenty.

i saw a commercial on tv for that Walking with the Dinosaurs exhibit. thats got to be so awesome for children. just about everyone loved dinosaurs when they were little. imagine getting to see them move around at that age and what an awesome experience that would be.

Raise preflop , and definitely dont make hero folds vs her in big pots. I've seen her misread her hand like this ALOT.

Silly hand.

UTG limps, he plays pretty tight and straightfoward (this limp is like small pp, JT/QJ ish, Ax suited type hands), button raises (he also plays pretty taggy and I don't know him that well). I call in the bb with red 66, 3 ways.

Flop 633rb. Lead, checkraise, or checkcall checkraise? I expect the button to bet most of his range on this board on the turn. Do you do anything different if the flop is 632rb?

Well if you're an unknown to the guy, I like leading this time. You would never really do it as a longterm strategy, but as an unknown you can get away with doing it and have him think you're just a donk. It also has the benefits of roping in the person in the middle with overcards or 22, 44, 55.

You could even consider flatting if the LP guy raises and then donking again on the turn.

The FBI showed up at my house today to do a background check on one of my friends, who will remain nameless. 100 percent of our activities involve either gambling or drinking or both.

How do you answer the question, does ____ have a problem with excess drinking, drugs or any financial problems that you know of?

Spoiler:
I obviously said no and I don't genuinely think he has a problem with any of these things. I just thought it was interesting that if I told him that we liked to go to the casino together and get drunk and play poker, he probably would think he had a problem with at least 2 of the 3.

I'd answer no, just to be a nice guy.

You should see the Economy rooms. They give you a cardboard box, a candle, a pee bottle and a framed "I Love Lucy" portrait for entertainment.

You're only allowed to use one item at any given time.

Spoiler:

They don't want you burning down the box, peeing on the picture, extinguishing the candle, etc. etc.

Key word: excess. Define it how you will.

To me, if you live to tell the tale, it wasn't "excess."

So full 20 and the table monkey limps. I raise the A10o (and pour one out for my homey 9.5). Button insta calls, something he does a fair bit by good player standards but not by commerce standards. Blinds fold....

432ddh

fish checks I bet button raises fish calls I call. I put button on like pocket 7s or a FD. And MAYBE a set.

Kh

check check he bets fish calls I call without even pause. Him still betting the king SHOULD set off alarm bells but hey I have a straight draw!

4c

check check he bets and I again am looking at 9:1 with ace high. Him continuing to fire eliminates the small pocket pairs. He'd never try a value bet on the river....so I'm thinking he's either got a missed FD or a boat and it's hard to make boats and people slow play sets so I call and get shown 3s full.

So my question is this....what's the furthest behind you've ever shown down?
