That's an effing hilarious blog, especially when you consider how ridiculously bad he plays. So his name is Dave and we already had a reg named Dave, whose nickname was Mormon Dave (for no reason I can think of except that he runs like Jesus is on his side). So another reg decided that pot-head Dave needed a nickname, which should be the opposite of Mormon Dave. He decided that the appropriate moniker should be "scumbag Dave," which I quickly
decided was the best poker nickname ever and tried to use it whenever his name came up. Me:"floorman who is up next?" Floorman: "Dave." Me: "Scumbag Dave?" Kinda weird, but Dave didn't like this nickname at all.

Is Morman Dave the guy who keeps making deep cashes in the shooting star? He is Jewish I think which makes it even better.

I mean it kind of sucked when Nico started coming in, but he didnt come enough to make a huge difference and people arent to keen on traveling to emeryville to play live Texas. The only people I would call out by name there are people who I hate and wouldnt just stop playing cuz I said they suck. I dont hate Dave and I know he wouldnt stop playing, bc I think he is bad.

If we can get all the Oaks regs and dealers-floor people to post in this thread I am moving back to the Bay. Kind of funny, bc the Oaks is a total s-hole, but the people are generally pretty nice and I miss the camaraderie of live poker. Obv online is more profitable, but it gets pretty lonely at age 31 when most of your friends are married and only hang out once a month.

These are great. Bicyclekick taught me this one but another great one is to just announce your hand like "jack-ace" when you have AJ. People get very confused.

Imallin...Mitch is just talking about doing it to me, or jesse or Fianchetto or some other rando tags he's friendly with. Also, the Oaks game is such a small group of people that at times it's very similar to a home game.


Im pretty sure Mormon Dave is not Jewish. Also, since we're having an Oaks reunion I heard the that the super hilarious Heineken drinking guy who always clapped when he won a big pot and said the Oaks $10 chips were like melons, has recently passed away.

I've got to go for jury duty on the 30th. I wish there was a box that I could've checked on the form that says 'Take my word for it, you won't pick me' but there isn't so I've got to go and waste a day. The reason they won't pick me is that if I count Housing Court I've been involved in more lawsuits than all the lawyers in the courthouse that day times 10 and even if I don't I've still been deposed at least 100 times and have been the victim of countless crimes. Last time I never got a chance to be questioned about my history. This time I hope I at least get the chance to horrify them w/ my story about the brains on the floor and the skeletons in the boiler.

Either me or DD is an internet celebrity. I played poker tonight for the second time all year and I'm walking to the cage, when some guy calls out to me from his table: "Death Donkey?" And I'm like "huh?" And he goes "Death Donkey?" And I say "No, but he's a friend of mine. And we're both tall white guys. Understandable mistake."

So I cash out and decide to go back to his table and ask if he's on Deuces Cracked. He says no, he just lurks 2+2 so I tell him I'm PJ and he's like "omg no way you're private joker? Everyone thinks you're black!" And we had a good laugh.

It's unknown whether the guy ever met DD and thought I was him, or if he had seen me before and been told I was DD by a mistaken third party, or if he had been told I was PJ and just mis-remembered me as DD. Or maybe he had seen me and DD together and forgot which one was which. Either way, we have fans!

I hope this guy only likes my off topic posts. Obviously I suck at poker, evidenced by the two racks I torched playing really rusty tonight. Apparently when I have 99 and raise the 844r flop and get cold-called by the button, and then bet the K turn and get called, I'm supposed to c/f the 4 river instead of value bet it because she obviously has K7. My hand reading blows.
