Well it becomes a lot easier when the majority of your roll is online. It would def be hard to take it srs if I had a live playing roll. I am still running over the game even though I've been caught runnng some ******ed bluffs.

To be fair, you could be 3-betting Axdd on the turn, so when you donk into him on the river he doesn't want to get 3-bet and have to cry-call with the second nuts.

Also, it's common courtesy to flat-call when you one-outer somebody. Raising is just rubbing it in.

people are such tremendous ass ****s. it's amazing how the same people who would come to me whenever they needed anything, are comfortable turning their backs on me when i am at the worst point in my life. the same people who held me back from moving up in limits as fast as i should have because they could get 10k from me when their life went wrong, now value their convenience over my ability to eat. people i thought had more to them than a dollar value now would rather lose me in their lives than be helpful. i used to laugh at cynics. used to believe in the inherent goodness of people. i wouldn't wish the bitterness i live in now on anyone. it grows as i get judged for the things i do to make it to the next day by people who have never seen actual adversity. i advise you all to never be the one who is so cold to your friends. what you gain tangibly cannot compare to sharing your best times with people whose well being you care about. that part i know. great experiences alone will always be hollow in remembrance. just because the world of idiots only care about themselves doesn't mean you have to. i may or may not be able to continue to be on this board. i have no idea if my contribution is memorable, but i owe a lot of what i was able to do in my life til now to the contributions of others. remember that you can always play better. sorry for the rant.

Booked the Athletic Club today. Don't worry about the other one.
GROSS! I just drove down last minute and alas there is a huge tourney going on.
I will def try to hustle up a 40, and I am pretty sure my image will allow for it thus far. The 20 at the Shoe has been my fav spot so far, because not only are they ridic fishy pf but they make some folds on the turn that you would never see in Cali, which=massive profit!

Oh it's real. Did you notice how Leo, upstanding honorable gentleman of the 9th order, did not take issue with me calling out his lie of non-baller-dom? This basically proves that he is baller and chose merely to remain humble at all costs.

The only debatable point here is why only 2? I mean I will concede that perhaps 6 might be too many, but there are numbers that are more than 2 but also still less than 6. Such as 5, for example.

I am not sure how to teach you. All I know is that we could play checkers for 3 cents a game and I would play my super A game. It basically boils down to a competitive drive that runs on jet fuel. I hate to lose in anything. I think this is basically the answer to avoiding stakes tilt.

I have to be a little careful with it though. Sometimes I go to the card barn to sit super low limits with one of my aspiring buddies and plan on playing a few hours so we can have a nice strategy discussion on the way home. On several occasions I ended up playing all night because there was someone in the game that still had money I needed despite the fact that it wasn't enough to buy dinner for 2 at Chevy's.

You're at caesars you say? Let us get sushi for lunch sometime this week. I'm going to be over there sweating SuperfluousMan in the NBC HU.

I wish I knew what to say in response to this. I sure hope things get better though buddy. I find that the hard times are the best times to take serious introspective looks at my life, figuring out what I can do differently/better. You can emerge from this a better person, but only you can make that happen. Good luck, man.

wassup leo? Need some help hiring the scantily clad waitresses?

What is the crucial missing information in live poker hand posts? The OP's ethnicity, age and style of dress.

From what else are reads built?

pro-tip for Jesse: apparent age.

It sounds as tho you're playing with the tourney crowd. The game that starts at 9:00 tomorrow morning and goes until Sunday night will feature about 3 or 4 competent regs, a couple of nits and one Indian doc spew monkey that'll pay you off- but you'll never bluff. I'll PM you with a bit more detail.

Having been formally schooled in the practice and art of medicine, it's my considered opinion that having more than two would place an inordinate strain on HB's heart. If something untoward were to happen to him, I'd prolly have nightmares for like two weeks and pj might even ban me.

Yes, as a matter-of-fact, I do. Furthermore, I can't think of a more qualified poster that I would entrust to spearhead the search effort. Are you up for the task? Before agreeing, be aware that HB will likely be a daunting critic of your efforts.

I'll PM you in the next day or two with the details of what I'm planning.

Oh... almost forgot. Do you know a bouncer I could hire to watch pope after he gets drunk?
03-04-2010 , 10:37 AM
boc-

Nevermind the bouncer. I'll just invite Sam to dinner and he can "supervise" all three boys: my son, his pal and pope.

I also don't know what to say. I find myself bitching and moaning about mis-fortune that simply does not compare to what you've described. Having never met you Im not sure what support I can offer, but as a fellow "struggling" full time guy if there is anything I can do please let me know. The last year and a half has sent me walking down i fear the same path; I hope I eventually make a turn.

I find myself longing for purpose and approval in my life, a need that used to be fulfilled by the simple acts of going to school or work. I was doing something to get somewhere, even if I didn't much enjoy it and would eventually loathe where I ended up. The only advice I have is to think hard about your stable of friends and look for one you might be able to turn to. If their are truly none and things are truly as grim as you suggest (which I don't doubt....just want you to be sure) you should consider searching for a live-in staking situation.

Again....in the off chance that I can be off help don't hesitate to PM me.

Moderation in all things. Including moderation.
