Look for a 20/40 at Live! on Saturdays. It may go in the afternoon or in the evening. There is a reliable player pool who was/has been (?) playing each and every Saturday, and I know they still try to get the game going because I receive the emails from the guys who try to round up enough players for the game to start. The floor there is very good about reserving a table: they'll fill 51 of the 52 tables on a weekend and hold that last one back for the LHE players, as they know that this is good for the room, overall and over time, and they'll change up a dealer rotation when necessary to ensure that the game starts as soon as possible.

It's not a tight game, but don't mistake loose-aggressive for spewtarding. There are spots. Otherwise, I'll decline to comment on the strength of play in that game.

But the lack of a healthy LHE "pyramid" has been THE issue with having an overall-healthy LHE economy in the D.C.-Baltimore-Delaware region. There are plenty of 4/8 games (with unbeatable rakes, for the most part), but there are hardly any 6/12 or 10/20 games to feed the larger games. (A 10/20 used to go regularly at Live! a couple of years ago, but that was only for about 6 months, and then it died.) 1/2 PLO is extremely popular amongst the mid-range, non-NL-cash-players, and they'll even organize games like 1/2/2 5-card PLO and 1/2 PLO 8. There was a fairly regular 6/12 HORSE game that went at Live!, but I don't know if that ever goes anymore. I'd even go so far as to say that there is a reliable expectation that a 5-card PLO game will go either at Live!, MGM, or the Baltimore Hoseshoe at least 4 nights per week. 2/2 and 5/5 PLO cash are 24-7, and they'll play much higher when conditions warrant it.

Bravo is relatively reliable for the non-NL-cash games there, including the wait-lists for games that may go. But if you want to be "in the loop" re when and where to play all the LHE games, just approach a reg at one of the LHE tables and say, "Hey! I heard there's an email chain/listserve to find out when the games are gonna go. Can I get on that?" I 100% guarantee that they'll be more than happy to oblige if they are winning that night. (Don't try this in a 4/8 game, however. They won't know and will look at you like you're a douche.)

Before it's opening in December, MGM National Harbor was proactive about getting the MD Gaming Commission to approve the other games for the mix (i.e., ace-to-five, deuce-to-seven, triple draw high, badugi, badeucey, badacey, and razzdugi). Around the time I left D.C., in December, there was talk about getting a 30/60 or 40/80 13-game mix going at the new room at MGM, but I don't know if that's been a go or not. Regardless, I see it as a good sign that they were proactive about getting the mix games approved because we need any mid-stakes limit play we can get in that area for the (good) larger games to remain healthy. (Although I should say: we've long had plenty of mid-stakes, mixed home games in that area, which do feed the larger LHE games, and a lot of residents are still avid AC and Parx players on weekends, and will play the larger LHE games during the week.)

Overall, I recommend checking out the poker scene in that area because (1) I'm in Europe now so you wouldn't be taking my action; and (2) there's plenty of proverbial meat on the proverbial bone.

Just keep in mind that cost of living in the D.C. Metro Area is extremely high (up there with SF and NY), so grinding 60/120 may be the functional equivalent of grinding 40/80 (or even 30/60?) elsewhere... Except for bankroll requirements.

The Last Frontier Casino and Poker Room in La Center, WA. (near Portland, OR.) will have 8/16 LHE starting June 1st, 2017.

Does the 20/40 generally go every day now? It used to be 20/40 some days and 15/30 others.

Starting June 1st 15/30 will be no more and I'm assuming 20/40 will go every day.

Hope they can support both 8/16 and 20/40. Would be nice to be easier to get into a game worth playing while waiting for the bigger game.

Update re 20/40 LHE at Maryland Live! Casino: from what I understand, the game goes on Thursday evenings now. It's somewhat regular, but all the LHE action slows down during the Series, so...

60/120 going regularly on Sundays and somewhat-regularly on other days of the week at MGMNH, and a 100/200 mix is playing fairly regularly on Fridays and Saturdays there, too, from what I understand...

They're spreading an 8/16 O8 game now. Not sure what days.

So, the 20/40 kill is going every day? I was there early in the summer and played on a Friday. Game was great. I was given inconsistent information on whether the 20 game goes daily and, if so, what time it usually starts.

20 runs most days. Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Sunday’s can be hit or miss. All other days the game runs consistently. The best time of year for consistent games is October-May.

Quick question. What is there for LHE in LA between 8/16 and 30/60. I know Commerce and bike have 8/16 and 20/40 but I know nothing about the other venues. Any info would be helpful! Thanks. (x posted in the Brick and Mortar Venues and communities LA Regional thread).

Hawaiian Gardens should also have those two games, unless something has changed recently. Hollywood Park is also likely to have something within that range, but not sure of exactly what.

Hollywood regularly runs 8/16 and 20/40 goes often as well.

Is it 15/30 or 20/40. Poker Atlas says 15/30 (must be out of date). Usually just runs weekends? Thanks for the info!

I used to be a regular in the 20 game at Foxwoods. I am considering moving out West later this year. Could someone give me some insight as to the toughness of the 20 games at CAZ vs. Bellagio. Would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Bossier/Shreveport Horseshoe, 20/40 on Thursdays. Has been running for years.

The 20 at Talking Stick(CAZ) have always been very good everytime I've played there. Most people I've talked to say it's one of the best games in the house. It sounds like one of the better games in the country. Lots of bad regs. Very few top notch players. Most of the very good players are playing the mix games. Even the "good" players have a lot of leaks. Over all it's pretty soft unless you get stuck in a short table with all tough players. You won't run into this if you show up earlier in the day and get a seat at the main table. That being said sometimes you get lucky and have some pretty bad players to play with shorthanded.

Does the Talking Stick game run every day?
