I think he was saying that instead of HO, it's now usually HOE. I was there in November and it was usually HO, but occasionally HOE; the E may have increased in popularity since then.

20/40 Half Kill runs every Friday at Horseshoe in Hammond, Indiana. Game typically runs from around 2pm on Friday until around 7am on Saturday or until the game breaks (typically past 7am since some of the regs never stops playing).

Game almost got killed by WSOP, mix games, and summer but most of the regs seemed to be back now. Even got a 2nd must move game going even when it started out 3 handed.

I've become a regular in the Lil's 20/40 over the past year and think the vague allegations of collusion that arise from time to time are nonsense. The game is quite good and I've never seen anything more shady than soft playing between certain regs and some half hearted angle shooting.

If there is team play going on, I would have seen some evidence of it by now, and haven't. The game has been great lately, with 2 and often 3 tables, depending on what promotion is running. The triweekly high hand promotion is very popular (and presents some excellent +ev side betting opportunities).

Good to get confirmation from someone who plays there regularly that the game plays on the up and up.

The same soft play happens in my cardroom as well, so I could imagine how it might look to an outsider.

I stopped playing years ago, but it makes me sad that the Ocean's 11 20-40 and 40-80 are apparently dead. They used to be consistently running games. I'll have to pop in there and play the 8-16 for old time's sake.

Although it's a heaping ****hole of a poker room, where they don't chop $5s (but they break $5s for their jackpots), the extra chip goes to the high suit, and an out of turn action is never binding, the Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL runs 20/40 half kill about 2-3 times a week.

when there's four $1s and an extra $5 in the pot, one player gets $7 and the other gets $2.

Oaks chops them. Extra dollar goes OOP.

As does The Last Frontier in La Center

This is totally messed up; they wouldn't even need to chop, just give the four 1s to one guy and the 5 to the other. I don't have an objection to giving extra by suit though.

In Las Vegas and Atlantic City, I think they chop a 5 in the 10/20 games, but not in the 20/40 games.

Commerce 40/80 chops to the nearest dollar (so 5s get broken down, and if there's an uneven $10 chip, they break it down as well). 60/120+ they don't break down the odd chip.

Wow if true. I played there yesterday and didn't catch word of that.

It's true. Spoke to a floorman yesterday about it. Lils was leasing a fair amount of parking spaces from adjoining Fred Meyer for years. Fred Meyer has chosen not to renew the lease. As such, the owners are choosing to close Lils (they would be left with around 40 parking spots, not near enough).

The flyer put out said the owners would give 60 day notice as to when the final day of operating was. Floorman believed that it would be sometime in March.

All poker room personnel are being encouraged to apply to a new casino opening up in the old Treasure Casino location that is 2 miles south. It is not the same owners, but the thought is that all the games will move there.

Sad end for a place that has been open for long. Who knows though, things can change. I hope Lils finds a way to stay open.

If you were in the 20/40 game, we must have played together. Not sure how you could have missed the news as everyone was talking about it!

I played early just for a bit that day but normally can't understand what the hell anyone is talking about anyways so I usually don't listen much.

Big games:

Casino M8trix in San Jose has been getting a 200/400 or 300/600 game going twice a week. Not sure how long it will last.

Bay 101 across the street has an 80/160 that goes 6.5 days a week.

Commerce has the 60/120 and 100/200 (often bigger) about every day.

500 Club in Fresno supposedly has a 75/150 or 100/200 a day or two a week. (never been myself)

Maryland Live has been running 75/150 twice a week.
