Mitch is an educated man of fine tastes and charm who is on track to becoming a legitimate southern gentleman as soon as he gets out of that simulacra of sophisticated society known as northern california and settles into brighter landscapes of south carolina.

I actually grew up in Atlanta and am pretty much the worst southerner ever, except that I like the food, though I will probably have to swear it all off if I have any chance with Sailboats' sister. Christian, make sure to tell her I am a professional gambler in a state that doesn't have casinos. Gets em everytime.

Hi PJ!
Dang, whats with the hate. Outside of PF, I didn't do anything wrong, and told you I was tilted.

I don't post about the standard plays that I make that are easy yet good, because thats no fun. Like calling a late position raise with 67s, check/calling a 336 flop, and check/folding a 3 turn (and being shown QQ)

You must have an awesome win rate, and in the process of moving up in stakes to 75-150.

I am expecting that when the CERN accelerator finally gets going it will provide the quantum mechanical explanation for why I can not win a hand of poker because it is obviously a fundamental quality of nature.

At least it was on Kim's account for her money while I was playing when she was eating breakfast. Still, 1 outters never really get old.

First go to La Center of the universe, I think even I can win there, I'm not, but I think I can.

here are my thoughts on scheduled games.

typically the lineup is tougher in a scheduled game than one that is run regularly. if this isnt a game youd consider playing regularly, id take a pass. if it is a game that youd regularly like to see spread, then you may have to suck it up and play and hope you run good.

This is probably true for the 80 at Bay 101, but for other games such as the 30 at the Oaks, the scheduled games tend to be supersoft, because more people show up. The 30 at Oaks goes daily, but when it first started it only went on Tues. and Fri. at 1. Alot of players dont even know that the game goes any other day of the week. Plus it makes it easier for rec players who have a job to schedule a day to play poker and they usually make it part of their weekly routine.

makes sense. how come they dont schedule the game for like 7pm on the weekdays or on the weekends instead of 1pm during the week? is it kindof like the nights a bar is slow, they might have something different like a band play to bring people in?
07-05-2009 , 04:31 PM
None of the 30 oaks regs have jobs.

As for bay...the 80 used to go every day but during WSOP it's been slow so I guess they are trying something new to get it up and running.

No, I moved to Hilton Head, SC. Its about 4.5 hrs away from ATL. My lease was up and I have lived away from my family for about 10 years so I was a bit homesick. Also I got a place about 2 blocks from the beach and I feel like I will be able to grind more online as a result, which will be much better for my bottom line.

Just finished losing 1600 playing 3/6 online. Got 2 outted basically any time I flopped top pair against a pocket pair and every time I had top pair good kicker I made top two which completed the villain's gutshot. Weeeeeee online poker.

as in, 266 bets in a session?
07-05-2009 , 09:14 PM
okay why do they schedule major tennis events and golfing events around the same times. the group of people that are interested in one are usually interested in the other. i used to be a promoter and that just sounds like dumb business sense to me. why divide it up 50% to go one and 50% to go to the other when you could probably get 80% to go to one and then 80% to go to the other scheduling them at different times.

Yeah, it was pretty impressive. About $1200 of it was me and the other $400 was my gf. Depressingly about 75% of the play time was her and the other 25% was me. It was really a thing of beauty. If I had AK vs their A9 the only question was whether they'd flop the kicker and I'd turn or river TPTK or if we'd both flop top pair and I'd wait until the turn to raise, at which point they would 3bet because they either turned 2 pair or anticipated rivering the guaranteed 3 outter. Other standard stuff like losing basically every time my hand at showdown was three of a kind or better and having KT vs T8 on TT383 in steal spot and Q6 vs 96 on 66257 in bvb (my last hand before I could take no more). The guy that 1 outted me in the hand I posted 2 outted me the next orbit with his 99 vs my QQ on T63, another guy beat my AA/QQ/QQ in three orbits with I forget what beat the AA but JJ flopping a set the first time vs QQ and just having KK the 2nd time on a 9943x board.

Oh also this fish was berating my play (I called a flop raise with AT on 976 then a turn bet on the 6 and lost to 55 when it went check/check and he told me I called with "two outs") so naturally I challenged him to hu 10/20 and amazingly he accepted. Then he sat with $200 and I had 77 otb and he called and the flop was 976 and he c/c then c/r the Q turn and I 3b and he called and he donked the 8 river and I lost to Q5 then I had AQ when he c/r me on Q643 and I called and raised the Q river and he 3b and I lost to 75 and before I knew it the guy folding 40% pf had almost $500 in front of him but then I ground him down to -$10 (which meant I was obv -$20 because of rake) and he just quit me so it was a moral victory although having his $200 would have been a lot more satisfying.

I was basically ready to snap my laptop in half. The time I was stuck ~200 bets playing 15 online a couple weeks ago or whatever was nothing compared to this.

The good news is I played about 15 minutes of 30 and 50 and won myself $2500 though. Clearly my account is a lot luckier than Kim's.
