Maybe you should play more 40???

BTW has Doug L ever played with you? Or is he just assuming that you can walk the walk just cause you can talk the walk?

I have played hundreds of hours of live poker and never tipped a floorman once for a seat in a game...is this really common?

I've played thousands of hours and never tipped a floorman for any reason whatsoever, but most of that was in Atlantic City where they will get fired if they accept tips. Wish it was like that everywhere.

short handed raked limit holdem games at the commerce are the worse. even if you can convince 4-5 other people to play, which is doubtful, with half the players the second they win a big pot are gonna insta sit out, and the other half are gonna sit out every other big blind.

Add in the $5-6 dropped/hand, and it really isn't worth the aggravation, even if you think you are +EV.

they generally dont get away with it at commerce. the main tipping for seats happens when new big games like 60 + 100 run. especially 100 or higher.

the 40 pros all hawk the seat change like it's a naked woman offering free bjs. Especially the weaker pros. It's quite entertaining tbch

the best part is that a bunch of them will change tables from any position multiple times a day, not understanding that they're probably throwing away half their daily expectation (if not more in some cases) in missed hands just to play in a marginally better game that probably won't even stay better for long.

I used to play the 40 all the time. Usually Thu or Fri night through Sat night. It almost always was a pretty good game. Has it changed that much in the past year?

The Commerce 20 is a rather better game than the Commerce 40, but it would have to be at least twice as good to make me want to play it rather than the 40. It isn't. I only play the 20 when I'm waiting for a seat in the 40.

I'll be there for a week starting on Nov. 10th. Big white guy with brown beard and ponytail, leather vest, leather hat. Stop by and say hello.

Never felt the need to tip the floorpeople, never had problems with getting into the game or very occasional table changes.

Played the 40 last night game was great, I'm not sure if it was just a Friday night thing but I got must moved 3 times and every table was better than the last. I'm going to try to come back asap!

I've never tipped floor for game selection either. How much do you have to tip to get moved up to the top of the list? How much to get a call when a good game is about to start?

I play there something on the order of once a week, typically generally between midnight and dawn on a Tuesday or Thursday morning. Board initials ABZ.
