Yesterday, I came across some online backups I had forgotten about which had a total of about 1M old hands. These hands went back to December of 2005 and up through present. Funny how many old screennames I had forgotten.

As for my limit holdem history as it relates to these images...

Unfortunately I don't have anything in my DB from 2002-2005 pokerrroom.com, Paradise, or Party. Also don't have any hands from the Bodog glory days of 2008-2013ish (I was TheBulinWall).

This does include all my hands from FT (EBC123), Absolute (EmmaElle, Laughable, IIAHE), Bodog (TheBulinWall), and a lot of old Party screennames.

Anyway, feel free to ask any questions. Enjoy!

Why did you have multiple screenames on the same site?

Old Party let you change screennames every so often. Also skins. Absolute was something similar but not sure the logistics.

What was the blind structure in the 31.5 game?

Do you mean the 15/30 where I lost over 27k hands? Im pretty sure that was from Absolute and pretty sure it was 2/3 structure. I think that was from the time I was propping there. Back then I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get my WSD over 33 in 6max.

Nah.. I was just joking about the 19 hands it looks like you played of 31.5/71

You obviously had a pretty successful online career. How did you study and improve your game back then? I also had the same problem with a too low WSD in those days

Also, did you strictly bum hunt huhu? Who was your toughest huhu opponent? Do you think anywhere near those results could be achieved today? Lastly, how many tables did you play?

Looking at your graph, it seems to me to have four distinct phases. I'm wondering whether you can generally comment on each of them and maybe why they are different than the preceding/following phase. Different sites, levels of competition, understanding of the game, etc. Thanks.

Phase 1: 0 to ~200k
Phase 2: 200-334k
Phase 3: 334-1,114k
Phase 4: 1,114k to end

Since the graph is pretty much a mish mash of 2/3rds of my overall hands I'll just give you a brief rundown of my poker history...

In 2002-2004 I played a lot at pokerroom.com and party. Mostly 2/4 with some dabbling up to 5/10. I finally picked up some Sklansky books and started winning consistently in the party 2/4 and 3/6 games.

Around 2004 I managed to work my way up to the Party 10/20 games and over the course of the next couple years I was able to win 2bb/100+ over 400k+ hands.

In 2006ish I was starting to struggle with Party poker. At some point they opened up 20/40 and 30/60 and I was having a tough time handling the more aggressive games. I tried PokerStars but was a slight loser in the 10/20 games over 60k hands.

Fortunately around this time I came across Paradise Poker. The games were amazing and I was able to win a bunch. There were multiple days where I would be down $5k in the 10/20 games there and was able to get back to even the same day. 10/20 20/40 and 40/80 there were all amazing.

At some point I started playing at Full Tilt since Paradise shut down and I couldn't do much on Party or PokerStars. I continued to breakeven on FT until a fateful day when and old friend I hadn't talked to in a while contacted me on IM. He said he had started playing HUHU on FT and was doing well. I asked a bunch of questions and played 10/20 for the first time that night. I didn't know what I was doing but I managed to win $2k and was hooked. That friend and I constantly discussed strategy and by the time Full Tilt ended up shutting down I managed to be one of the biggest winners there thanks to HU.

In that time I also propped at Absolute poker. The games were pretty good but lots of props and lots of 6max where I was probably a dog but managed to do well HU. Lots of bot there as well.

Now that I think about it I guess I started playing at Bodog mainly after FT shut down. The site had amazing games from 2008ish to a couple years ago. I pretty much only played there from 2011-2015ish.

As time has gone one I've gotten better at 6max. As I mentioned in a previous post my WSD was only 33% for a loooooong time in 6max. Probably 2002-2009. Obviously I big reason I eventually had no chance in 6max games. Luckily CardrunnersEV decision tree software helped me remedy that.

Anyway, that's a brief history of my time playing. Thanks for the question. Fun to be nostalgic for a day or two.

Way back when a lot of my improvement was just talking to smart people. My biggest improvement playing 6max was really learning hu. Once you have an idea of GTO strategy HU you can extrapolate most 6max situations.

As for results being achievable today, I think it's possible to get close. My results for the past 3 years are slightly lower than the overall numbers but very comparable. I think understanding GTO play is essential though if only b/c it allows you to better evaluate opponents.

Cardrunners EV helped a lot with GTO strategies at first. Then hand histories from the Computer Poker Competitions helped a lot with 6max and HU.

I was probably a bumhunter in 2008-2011. I had near constant games with rec players so it was really a no-brainer back then.

The best HU player from 2006-2015ish was, imo, the biggest limit enigma during that period. This was "MisoRucky" on FT and "toomuchneon" on Stars. Miso would just show up, play the biggest stakes, win $1,000,000 then disappear. This happened only a couple times. He played fantastic though.

Best HU reg probably HossTBF/Matt Hawrilenko. Best now seems to be Yoghii.

I only played 4 tables at a time. Tried more occasionally but just couldn't keep up.

Would you be interested in some head up on bodog?

I disagree with the best head up hosstbf/Matt he was probably never the best. Can't be the best if you struggle against Phil and Patrick. Best would probably be Kpr16 once Cepheus came out and he figure out how to use it strategy. Obviously Yoghii now.

No thx to scheduling HU on Bodog.

Fair. Team KPR/SallyWoo came a little after Hoss though so hard to say. Along with KPR/SallyWoo, Kagome/Kagome/JesusLebtNot were probably the best of the post-Hoss, pre-Yoghii timeline. However since Kagome wouldn't play KPR/Sally I guess edge KPR/Sally. IMO, toomuchneon/MisoRucky played better than both.
