20/40 time game.

Folded to me in the SB and I raise 5s6s, BB 3 bets. I call. He seems like he might be a little on the spazzy side. I had a hand earlier when he was on my right and raised on the button and I called down with KTo on AA377 and he showed J8o. I saw him 3 bet pre light a couple other times.

Kc8h5c...I check...I tend to just call down against this type of player. Against a player with a tighter preflop range would it be better to just CR the flop and bet down for value? I'm operating under the assumption that his range consists of more good Ace high hands that we can get value from. Also, he won't have as wide of a bluffing range so he will be checking back the turn or river more often.

No I don't think you should ever check-raise here

I like the check, call down line if you don't improve as a standard play. I like it even more against someone who is too bluff heavy in their range.

I would never check raise here either. Calling down is exactly how I would think to exploit the fact that he spews. If I hadn't seen him show down with A high or under pocket pair in these situations I wouldn't think I could get much value out of bottom pair.

I'm always calling down against the spew guy.

I think the problem with my idea of CR against the tighter range player is that I open myself up to getting raised on the turn or 3 bet on the flop. I would have to call down due to the draws on board. If I could safely b/f I think taking a CR line with this hand wouldn't be bad. Typically I would CR a decent 8 here maybe down to 78. I probably would just call down the spewy player though.
