SB...very agro pre, Seems to be capping a lot in or out of position in HU situations. The only showdown I saw after a cap was KQo when he was the button and the SB 3 bet. The SB had been 3 betting a ton pre so he may just be adjusting or just sick of it. I have a pretty laggy image at the moment.

This is our first BVB encounter.

He opens, I 3 bet KJo, he 4 bets, I call...there is no cap HU.

QhQcAh...He checks...How would you proceed?

First of all, I would just call pre most of the time (I do have a 3betting range this hand is just not a good one to have in it, especially against described villain). Now I would check.

I didn't like my 3b with this hand.

When you say that you just call pre most of the time, are your referring to when you are up against a player like this? Are you flatting stronger hands? I have a pretty wide 3 bet range because I find that most players in my game don't feel comfortable playing BVB and tend to not fight as hard has they should post flop.

Thanks for your response!

BTW...If I post more BVB hands I'll add a specific title to each for easier reference. I didn't realize I was gonna post so many of these hands.

No I mean with JK of different suits specifically. My default is to just call most of the time, but additionally as an adjustment to this player I would like to not 3bet this hand even more.

I like Xb flop as we.blpck some of his drawing hands that this player would prob Cbet. So I read this players x as a fancy trap or at an underpair that he plans to showdown. You have a hand that benefits from the free card so I’d take it and re evaluate on the big streets. His 4b is not standard and I’m wondering what u think the bottom and median parts of this range is (prior to his donk check).

Maybe not many, if any, spots you’ve seen this line and how he plays postfloo after bloating the pot, but you might be able to deduce it based on lines he’s take in other 3b/cap hands he’s seen showdown. If his check is a reliable give up, you can take the pot away w a flop or turn probe (get out the heatmaps!). But as default I’d xc our hand here and that he’s called oop hedges me even more towards a check than default would. Ok bed gl

I've never played with this guy before so I'm not sure about his range. I agree with what you think his donk check may mean. Maybe he capped with a silly hand like 67s and thinks there is no way I'm folding and perhaps falsely thinks my range is stronger than it is. I was thinking putting in a bet on the flop as the last bet I put in unless I improve made sense.

I think more often this is not a check on his part to fold so checking back the flop is probably the play.
