BB...TAGish/I think he is flatting his whole range here. Tends to play very carefully post flop/ I've seen him 2 or 3 times on dry boards raise and fold to a 3 bet. He has folded a few times to my open from SB. He tends to wait for the turn with strong hands(top pair good kicker +) Overall I don't think he feels comfortable playing against me in BVB. He sees me as a solid TAG who can get out of line once in a while.

My reads are based on a very small sample size above. We don't battle BVB often due to the games being great and him often giving up both when he is on my right or left.

I open SB with 5d6d and He calls

Kc8s2h...I bet, he raises. I really want to 3 bet here. If he calls I'm done with the hand unless I improve to a straight draw. Or should I wait for a better spot where I have a little something more to draw to? like 5s6s or 9dTd.

Please note: this is a time game and I am a winner in BVB battles.

How would you know you are a winner in bvb battles? Anyway 3b here is awful. Just fold.

Fold.

Also, if he is flatting his whole range pre flop, you should be donk checking the flop more. Not with this hand; this hand is a b/f.

Yeah seems easy b/f barring a live tell that cant yet possibly be reliable given the sample size.

B/3b barrel off bluff w this hand is more kamikaze than most bc there’s almost no equity against even his weaker made hands like 9c8d. We have no bdfd and the bdstr8 draw requires us to hit a gut shot after a turn 3 or 4 (cards which will not generate additional turn FE). The pair outs aren’t appealing against a tag w an uncapped range

I like bet fold flop.

9dTd.
No, not without a backdoor straight flushdraw and a solid read.

With a solid read(I don't think you have one), the correct adjustment is to 3 bet more draws. The order of preference for me starts with T9, J9, JT, 97, 43, 53, 54.

Much more than that and you're getting into very exploitable territory.

I wasn't planning on barreling off. I had seen him in a few spots raise/fold so I would be trying to exploit this read. If he called me I would be done with this hand unless I improved.

Lets change my hand to 9T with a BDFD and lets assume the BB does not flat his whole range. Would this be a reasonable opportunity to take a shot?
